Re: What do you think about games on blockchain?

What about MMORPGs with weapons and equipment the is saved to a blockchain and for every End Game Raid completed or player that it is possessed by, it is permanently granted a stat boost or feature that makes it legendary in its own right. maybe also keep record of of its prior owners too. for posterity.

The cellarius project is interesting not quite a game yet but essentially its a fan driven multi media franchise that uses a blockchain based consensus tool that allows the community to vote on whether or not fan submitted works become cannon or not. Its an interesting idea to be sure.

Statistically speaking the biggest blocker for those who are interested in bitcoin is that there is a lack of investor protections currently I don't have a link but I beleive it was a coindesk article but I could be wrong.

Re: Bitcoin adoption and payment gateways

Until the liquidity issues with BTC and other Cryptocurrencies are resolved (which if estimated liberally will still take a while) these methods of accepting BTC will be necessary for merchants to utilize. especially those with high overhead and narrow profit margins. So while day to day it will indeed create a notable selling pressure it is a necessary step towards mass adoption IMO.

The SEC is actually pretty bullish on bitcoin, relatively speaking anyhow, so I don't see them turning on it for little to no reason. but who really knows right?

Bitcoin is one of, if not the safest currency on the planet. Just do your due diligence and keep your passwords and keys safe then you have little to worry about.

WTH Is this?^

But to the point I'm not a huge fan of mob rule. The public is pretty darn easy to manipulate, and most folks in this industry are what would be considered low info investors.
Not necessarily stupid but have lives to lead and cant always be up to date on their investments.

i'm referring more to news such as roadmap milestones, news of partnerships ect. that creates buying frenzies in these markets. could just be that it was technical buy signals but I just want to know if there was anything I missed.

Whats going on with the card coins? Like Tenx and Monaco

Seems like the card coins are on a run recently. what happened? seems a little too coincidental the these similar coins are being pumped. was it just that they broke out at relatively similar time? What gives?

P.S. I did look into Monaco the other day but couldn't find any fundamentals that explain the price action.

Seriously people seem to not realize that the news is a business and reports on what gets them the most ad revenue I.E. the bad stuff. take time to read a book on the subject so that you may understand the nuances and complexities of life there.

Hell I'd say do that for any subject you are interested in as news burbs seldom provide the whole story no matter what publication you get it from.

Re: Africa and backwardness in technology

Ok guys Africa is not backwards when it come to societal and technological development. sure most of it is at least a bit behind when compared to the likes of the UK or Japan but to say most of it is is rural or tribal is misleading. for most countries that encompass large swaths of landmass are technically "mostly rural" and given that in terms of sq kilometers Africa IS the largest continent by far its a given that it would be "mostly rural," To give some perspective ALL of the cities on earth could fit in the state of Texas with room to spare.

While on the topic of cities like everywhere else most Africans live in them and they are not tribal in the slightest, so to say it is "mostly tribal" is completely wrong.

But as to why low tech industries are the most prevalent in the continent is not a simple answer and open to alot of conjecture, especially from those who have an agenda. foreign industry, terrorism, corruption, the resource curse, civil war ect. ect. all contribute to the fortunes of Africans and what people dont realize is that the degree that each country faces varies significantly.

As a rule of thumb if someone says they know the answer to nuanced problems and issues probably doens't and certainly don't if they opt to break it down to several bullet points.

But that just like my opinion man.

There will be innovations that alleviate these issues whether it is green energy more efficient mining rigs or different protocols (maybe all three?) I wouldn't worry too much.

Re: Bitcoin Market Manipulation
by
whitewolfofcoinstreet
on 20/06/2018, 20:13:48 UTC
I'm damn near certain that it is happening as I personally have manipulated shitcoins in the past. Frankly the only reason that I did so with shitcoins is because those were simply the ones I could afford to do so with. And If I was willing and able to do so with them (I am not rich btw) then I'm certain that it is only a matter of means for someone to do so with the larger coins even BTC. Likely it is by no means all of those with the means but enough to make the difference.

With that said I'm not one to think that the recent price action can be completely attributed to these actors but to some extent it must be subject to their influence simply because it can be.

But thats like, my opinion man.
