Are signups not working at WeExchange? Registered twice, verified my mail, did several password resets with different types of passwords but everytime I want to login it says "Login incorrect".

Block generated?

Hello all,

recently I switched to solo mining, and now one of my miner showed up "share accepted".

However my bitcoind shows getbalance = 0.

I can see in "bitcoind listtransactions" the 50 BTC transaction with the id, looking up on blockexplorer its the same time as the miner reported it.

What am I doing wrong?

Ok I am aware of this baking method  Roll Eyes
But I'll have to return the card and there is a good chance that something could go really wrong and I dont want to end up buying it ^^

Broken 5870

Hi all,

I managed to get my hands on a broken 5870 card. The guy who gave it to me told me he was driving his resolution up to much, so the output went black.
I threw it in my linux machine but this card is not being recognized, not even when running "lspci".

But its fan is spinning, it is getting warm over time, and when I pull out the pcie-power-plugs it is beeping like a good card... Also there are no signs of errors while booting, no bios error code beeps, ...

Do you have any ideas what else can I try to get it working again?

I simply let aticonfig generate the xorg.conf for me, nothing changed there. (aticonfig --initial -f --adapter=all)

I guess that little extra MH/s isnt really important. At this point it would be better to look for some real-world effecting factors, including better cooling, network latency (better pools) to reach a higher real hashrate

I dont use the poclbm kernel, I'm using poclbm miner with phatk kernel Wink Run "git pull", it was included recently
As of the clocks, I'm on 1000,350 now. There is no aggression in poclbm, I use -f0 which is the hardest setting, -w256 and -v

Running headless means I simply run "xinit" which spawns an empty desk with one xterm window in case of ubuntu server. I didn't change anything config related, except for having "export DISPLAY=:0" included in my bashrc file.

You and I are clearly of one mind.

Hehe I guess so  Grin

Maybe it will change with the new SDK 2.5, so we can squeeze out a little more Hashes  Wink

Can you get it higher with the kernel improvements?

Looks like we need SDK 2.4 for this, but I will stay with 2.1 at the moment

I'm running linux headless, so I use aticonfig and adjust my base-clocks at bios level.

I will try to do some optimizations, I will let you know Wink

Hey there,

is this ubuntu server? try the following:

sudo apt-get install xinit
screen -S x
sudo xinit

leave screen with "ctrl+a", "d"

try again Wink

also you can try CLInfo with the following command and see if your gpu is listed:
/opt/ati-stream-sdk-v2.1-lnx64/samples/opencl/bin/x86_64/CLInfo
