Have you tried the mining drivers?

There will always be new coins to mine so I don't think gpu will ever die. Asic's are so specialized, they seem to go obsolete pretty quickly.

Inspired by another thread, What is a hard decision you have to make?
by
whycrypto

I was going to post in another thread but I thought this would be a good question to start another one as well as maybe get some advice. I believe I have the hardest decision in my life right in front of me. There is a chance for me to move to another area to live, with better weather, better lifestyle, possibly even a higher standard of living, ie, less cost to live, but it means moving from a great metropolitan city with amazing culture. I have about a year to decide, but don't know what to do. Any advice from someone who has made a big move from one area to another area?

Also as I wrote in the title, what is a hard decision you have to make in the near future?

Not sure if https://poloniex.com is a reputable exchange or not but they are taking new accounts. Also https://www.binance.com/ is taking new accounts. I don't know if they are good site or not but both are listed on coinmarketcap.com so they must have some amount of reputation.

Canada, this very
Look at whales in Vancouver, browse Toronto's metropolitan city, wet in the Niagara Falls, venture to Banff National Park, ski in Whistler to see the aurora at Churchill Cheesy

That is amazing, how long did you travel for or do you live in Canada? I've been to a few different countries but not very many, but my favorite would be S.Korea. A place that I would love to visit would be the Galapagos Islands.

Re: Do you really earn more money because you went to college?

Quick answer is yes, but I think the true answer is that college gives you more potential to make more money. In some ways I think the internet has leveled the playing field quite a bit as college used to be one of the only ways that anyone could rapidly gain information. Now with the easy access to massive amounts of information for free on the internet, the potential to earn more money is tipping to not going to college.

Re: Will the electric car destroy the petrol car?

Definitely yes, but not for a long time I think. There are people that still have working model T's. Even if every car company were to stop making ICE cars tomorrow, enthusiasts and collectors will keep petrol cars running for a long time. Think about it this way, when ASIC arrived on the scene, they said GPU mining was dead, but it seems there are still a lot of people mining even if it's not profitable.  Grin

I miss my Honda, but riding in the city can be annoying. If you are in the country and can ride all year long, then definitely worth it.

I'd like to add if you click on  the "Pair" column you can further organize the exchanges by the fiat or coin pair. For example to see the btc/usd value per exchange but you do have to scroll down a bit.

Sorry for the ignorance but why would you want to put your BTC in cold storage ahead of the fork? I understand that cold storage makes your btc super secure so how does a fork compromise your btc?

Good luck registering with the exchanges, a few of them have temporarily stopped new registrations due to the flood of new accounts. I just tried to register for bitfinex and they are not taking new accounts until Jan 15 at the latest.

Re: Why did I lose on trade ??

I understand what most of you are saying. However why can’t anybody answer this question:
On cex.io the price to buy 1ETH is much higher than the price to get it back + the fees...
For example it costs 800$ to buy 1ETH but when you sell back 1ETH you receive much less. So not only are there fees but there is also a price difference.. How can one trade successfully if the exchange rates are like this. Can someone please comment this.

I'm not very familiar with CEX.io but on exchange like WEX.nz or GDAX.com the buy and sell prices are not as drastic, usually less than 1%, sometimes as little as 0.1%. The answer might be you need to trade on another exchange if cex.io has such extreme fee's.

The only crypto that I have seen with $100usd spread is BTC, but even then it's less than a 1% diff between the buy and sell prices.

While a great idea, doesn't seem possible at the moment. I've heard of people buying real estate or cars with btc, but not sure if that is actually locking in profit.

I would say the answer is pretty similar to the question of "I'm new to stocks, what should I buy?". Don't buy berkshirehathaway and don't buy penny stocks. Buy something you would have no problem losing 100%. That being said, do your research and buy from an exchange that has good reputation.
