I create and operate a lot of trading bots, mostly arbitrage and market making and such. I just wrote a long story about an arbitrage system I was operating during the big bull run, you can read the full article here: https://forum.gekko.wizb.it/thread-56746.html

Re: Gekko - a javascript trading bot and backtesting platform
I would recommend downloading a stable release from here instead of using the develop version (unless you are a developer). Download that from here: https://github.com/askmike/gekko/releases

Re: Gekko - a javascript trading bot and backtesting platform
I tried to install it on my mac native, but I keep running into the same error: TypeError: _.get is not a function
I have run a formula live paper trading, it gave me decent results on a downtrend and fantastic results on an upward trend. You need to be able to get a formula that works both ways, just keep experimenting!
this was a bug in the latest develop build. You can download a stable version to not have to worry about these things here: https://github.com/askmike/gekko/releases
OR you can download the latest develop, since this bug has been fixed.

Re: Gekko - a javascript trading bot and backtesting platform
I hadn't realized Gekko was able to do arbitrage and market making, I'll dig into that a little.
You can't, apologies if I wasn't very clear:
With Gekko you can only do TA trading, but I write a ton of trading software (Gekko is open source, my other stuff is private). Over the years I haven't found a single system that was able to return profits time after time.
I use a bunch of trading systems, these include different gekko instances running at different exchanges. The gekko instances use TA strategies to: try and ride trends as well as limit market risk (be sure to get out in case things might crash).

Yep, january is pretty hard though (for trend based strategies) since all markets are getting butchered right now.
I do a lot of automated trading (arbitrage, market making and different strategies with Gekko: trend watching as well as some crash risk monitoring). I make enough money with automated trading to sustain myself.

somebody is good at coding node? I´m working on a neural network to better forecast the charts.
I need some help. We are two guys now testing these.
If you have no luck here: I just set up a forum to discuss both gekko stuff and these kind of things, you might have more luck there: https://forum.gekko.wizb.it/

In the next version of Gekko you can (using limit orders), right now you would have to implement in your strategy (which is anything but realtime, but it works).

Interesting idea, right now Gekko focusses purely on raw market data (eg. candle data). Would be great if we can add and try to correlate external data sources (exchange lag, tweets, whatever) in a way.
----
For everyone running windows: Gekko supports a huge number of indicators (100+) via a library called TAlib. Which works great but is almost impossible to compile on windows. I just created a proposal for a similar library (tulip indicators) that has precompiled windows binaries available. If you would like to see this soon in Gekko, please +1 the proposal here: https://github.com/askmike/gekko/issues/708

Here is a video explaining how to install on windows, meant for users not very experienced with commandlines / terminals.

I'm really inactive here nowadays, just want everyone to know that right now Gekko I am heavily developing new features into Gekko. But please check out the website for up to date details:
Don't be like me and buy the cheapest external hard drive enclosure you can find. I bought the "CiT 3.5 inch USB 2.0 SATA and IDE HDD Enclosure" for a few bucks on amazon and have some problems:
Good to see you are still working on this project! Still one of my favourite Bitcoin visualisation tools!!
Awesome to hear, thanks

I am still using Google Adsense but want to switch to higher quality and less invasive ads. Traffic has grown to roughly 100,000 pagehits a month (pic) (note that this number does not include people with adblockers, the integrated ads I am proposing will have more hits).

Re: Advertise on my "Realtime Bitcoin Globe" visualization website
I like the visualisation, it's definitely grabs the attention and is very interesting.
Are you still developing the site ?
Do you have any reports of the traffic you receive ?
Thanks! I am currently getting around 10k visitors each month. More precise numbers will be shared with advertisers (most probably through an admin dashboard or monthly/weekly report. Whichever is preferred).
I am still updating the website (also working on other visualizations that will be hosted beside it as part of the wizb.it platform), but I cannot promise big updates to this specific visualization at this moment.

Advertise on my "Realtime Bitcoin Globe" visualization website

In the beginning of 2014 I created a 3d web visualisation displaying all 0-conf transactions and new found blocks happening in the Bitcoin network in realtime:
The project currently has at least 10k monthly visitors and I am thinking of monetizing it by putting a small text based ad on the bottom of the page (like so). This is the first time I am thinking about placing advertisements without using Google Adsense: I like to experiment with more quality advertisements.
I was thinking about setting up an admin page providing easy insights in visitor amounts for a party placing ads on the page. But I am open for other options as well.
If anyone is interested in placing ads on the Globe, send me a private message here or email me at wizbit [at] mvr [dot] me (PGP). If anyone has questions or ideas let me know in this thread!
