Definitely invest. Saving will just depreciate due to the inflation. Learn various investment products and invest in something you trust. Also always remember to diversify. Never know what will happen in the future.

Both are great coins. However, I prefer to LTC more due to its history and track record.

Depends on what do you mean by stable. If its about price, no coin is stable as it can move by 100% in a day. If it is about the popularity, then ETH, LTC, DASH, XRP are relatively stable and they are almost always at the top 10.

I guess bitcoin will become more and more popular. It will also enter the traditional financial markets like the futures in CBOE and CME. At the same time, maybe more and more regulation may come.

Always start with the amount that you can completely lost. It is not just safe, but you will also have better mentality in the investment process.
12k is quite a big amount. If it is relatively small in your wealth, I would put half to BTC and another half split evenly on ETH, LTC and NEO
Otherwise, you may start with smaller amount and invest more when you get better feeling on the crypto trading and investment

Re: ETH and LTC which is valuable ?
by
windsee
on 12/12/2017, 15:01:14 UTC
I think both are valuable. However, they are quite different in their nature.
LTC is very similar to BTC that its more a storage of value and a mean of transaction. Actually, it is better than BTC in terms of transaction due to the speed and cost of transaction
ETH is special because of the smart contract functionality. It also opens the door for all the ICO now.
However, the price trend of LTC is much better recently.
LTC is too volatile right now. I expect a huge correction in next couple days (to $190 or so) and up again to $500-600 in 2018
LTC was underperformed BTC for years. I believe it is catching up. Based on the ratio a few years back with 1 BTC ~= 30 LTC, I also think that it may rise up to $500-600 range

I use it to receive the ICO tokens. However, when I exchange the tokens back to BTC, ETH or LTC, I will send them to my offline wallet to be safe

I'm using Exodus and MyEtherWallet.
Exodus is to hold the major coins and MEW is to hold ICO tokens. Still a small amount, but want to understand more about the security before I invest more.

If you were able to get this 0.01 BTC from nothing, I think you should use the same strategy or learn new strategies to earn more BTC

Will the wallet developers keep a copy of private key?

Maybe a stupid question. Wondering if various wallet developers will keep the private by themselves. When we install the wallet, address and private key will be generated. Will the developers keep a copy by themselves? I know the wallet project is in github and availabile for review, but how do we know the version we install is the one in github? Seems it's a matter of trust. Do we have anything that can verify it's safe?

I think no other alt coins can against bitcoin unless there is major security fraud.
Basically, the price of all other coins are going in the same direction as bitcoin. However, the performance of the major alt coin (e.g. ETH and LTC) will continue outperform bitcoin base on the trend this year

I expect the price will rise on a steady rate, but can't expect the sharp increase recently.
Some of my friends start to ask me what is bitcoin and how to buy it. Not sure if it is a signal for the bubble burst just like what happened in the stock market.
