Hey man, I posted a 280x config that some of the guys here on the forum claimed worked for them as well. Not sure for the 290 though. Give this one a shot on your 280x:

Hi folks
Finally registered on the site after browsing from a distance for a long time. I've recently invested a fair bit of money in hardware for Scrypt mining but seeing as Bitcoin is the old school currency I would register here for hints and tips off some more experienced miners.
So far my journey into mining has been very average... I am really struggling to get my PC to boot up with more than one GPU connected to my motherboard (AsRock H61 Pro BTC) and it's really starting to get to me now. I'm just not sure what else I can try.
