i was wondering if you could take me on for two months? Like under a mentoring type of setup where i could learn from you directly? Maybe we can talk for 2 hours a day and you can teach me every single thing that matters about manipulation and bots and the whole nine? I am very interested in learning crypto so that I can have some independence and not have to rely on someone else for help? I will make it extremely worth your while, I will pay any amount just let me know how possible this is and if you are willing. It will be a major help for me

thank you

(i have sent a dm to join for the picks for next week too by the way)

+1 i've been asking for something like this for months now, I'd be the first in line to jump right in

I know it'll be somewhat of a big time commitment but you could restrict it to specific number of people every month. I would find it very helpful

Hi ryan, i was wondering if you offer one on one mentorship? I have learned a lot from reading your website and have noticed that you use several methods to accomplish different things and would like to work with you to learn these. Maybe for a month or two so that i can pick your brains fully. Please i have also sent a message and would love to hear back

Still interested in this

Also messaged to participate next week tnx

May be it was due to companies like Laxo trade and others started sending dust again b367a0916294963b3515969bb713a398bc5775d1d58e8decd0c6111ca2221035

I wouldn't be surprised if this at least had something to do with overall transaction levels being increased. We have seen a number of sites use blockchain spam as a way to advertise this year. A number of them have gotten a lot of attention on this forum

2 days before i contacted diamondcardz

i wrote a PM to the trustsystem inventor (at least i think he is)

its not like i didnt try follow a way by contact the moderators/admins

but they didnt reply

i always asked for them same as with diamondcardz to check me out if i am trustworthy in their opinion

i never asked for being blind classified as trustworthy

http://i59.tinypic.com/24c6yhk.png

That's not how it works. You do not "apply" for someone's trust - someone will leave you positive trust if they deem you trustworthy, but you don't request it.

The ignorance is real here. That's kind of a ridiculous PM, especially to theymos of all people. cryptonit seems very unaccustomed to this type of community.
In theory, some people on level 1 default trust could take applications like this as there is no uniform way for someone to add someone to their trust list.

I would say that his 'application' would likely be denied as he has not proven himself to be trustworthy

Re: How many of you consolidate your bitcoins?
by

on 07/12/2014, 01:16:06 UTC
I consolidated all of my 217 kBTC into this single address:

https://blockchain.info/address/1JoktQJhCzuCQkt3GnQ8Xddcq4mUgNyXEa
IIRC this was the address that bitstamp sent all their bitcoin to as part of their audit. (I assume you are joking).

As mentioned above it is not good to consolidate your bitcoin into one address as it affects your privacy. The amount you would potentially end up spending in TX fees is not that great to warrant this kind of effort anyway

Re: Gavin Andresen Proposes Bitcoin Hard Fork to Address Network Scalability
by
wolfYella
on 21/10/2014, 23:48:17 UTC
I just worry about the negative impact when the hard fork is taking place especially put into consideration the size of network we are having right now. I mean what if somebody plans a out scheme that manipulates the network during the switch over. But then if we think again, if we don't do it now, then the question is when are we going to do it. As the network grows there can never be the right time.... and we really need to plan, prepare and anticipate for the future.
I don't think a planned fork would make the network any more vulnerable to a potential attack then a time when the network is not about to get hard-forked. I would even argue that the network would be slightly more secure during this time as many people would be paying very close attention to the network and various aspects about the network

Re: Is there a difference of opinions at Bitcoin Foundation regarding XBT proposal?
by
wolfYella
on 21/10/2014, 23:45:10 UTC

Non-mathematicians have difficulty picturing sums like 0.00014321 BTC, which would be 143.21 XBT if XBT=100 satoshi(s)
The transition would be even more seamless because people already started thinking in bits. If 1XBT=1bit=100 satoshi, it would all make sense.

I see your point, but agree with R2D221 and Jon Matonis. Don't know whether 'catastrophic' is the right word, but it would create too much confusion.

As per your example, from the small/medium business or even customer's perspective, you'll be more likely dealing with amounts ranging say between BTC0.01 to BTC100 rather than BTC0.00014321. A few examples:

BTC99.15 = XBT99150000
BTC1.456 = XBT1456000
BTC0.025 = XBT25000

To me, that doesn't look much better than 0.00014321, does it?

Why would it be a problem? right now yen is ~1:100 of the dollar, so I presume movie ticket cost 1000-2000 yen, so btc 0.025 ($10)=25000 XBT would be no problem.
people will just say "thou"-in your last example-25 thou or 25k bits
One issue is that people in Japan are used to spending these large amounts of units of currency while the vast majority of the rest of the world is not. I don't think spending this large of a unit of currency would ever catch on in much of the industrialized world.

The drug argument once again, and yet I've read that nearly every U.S dollar bill in circulation has trace amounts of cocaine on it.
This is a true statement. I would say that as a percentage of total trade, that drug trade makes up a much larger share of bitcoin trade then the drug trade makes up of dollar trade

Re: The protocol of bitcoin can be limitlessly replicated
by
wolfYella
on 26/09/2014, 05:13:36 UTC
Well, let's see, currently the market cap of the following are:

BTC = 5.4 billion USD

The next 500 alt-coins combined = 581 million USD

You may have a point. (I'm not being sarcastic.)

However, the average market cap for each individual alt-coin is very low compared to bitcoin.
It has been hypothesized that the market cap of the altcoins takes away from the market cap from bitcoin. Therefore the ~580 million market cap from altcoins lowers the market cap of bitcoin by an equal amount and creating an additional altcoin would only take away from the total max market cap of all altcoins

I think he was actually trying to make a name for himself. By making such a bold prediction that he felt had somewhat of a chance of happening he would potentially become known for being able to predict price crashes. Regardless he generated a lot of press for himself

Re: Bitcointalk blocked by the Great Firewall of China!
by

on 26/09/2014, 05:06:58 UTC
I am Chinese, actually I can still access the Forum through the phone network(CUCC) ,but the forum isn't available on the PC as the PC is connected to Internet with the CTCC network. This is my situation.

We could not say the GFW has banned the forum because we can get access to the forum in some way even it's unstable. But we believe the day that they ban the forum fully might come someday.

Doesn't make sense to ban internet but not phone network.

There are also some crypto forums hosted in China, are they being affected?

No, these forums won't be affected , you know ,hosting in China means the server is in China, in other words, they control everything, if there is something they don't like they will ask the site to delete it or they will take the server down directly.

They should just let you pretend to have freedom and use the internet. That way you can get on some forum and bitch about everything while they continue to squeeze your balls in a vise.
One freedom that you do not have in China is freedom of speech. If the GFW allowed access to BTT then Chinese users would potentially be able to criticize the government which they do not want

Re: Delete all the old and unused accounts.
by
wolfYella
on 16/09/2014, 05:25:42 UTC
The only reason I would say it would be appropriate to delete an account would be if an account is perma banned and all the posts have been deleted and no PMs have ever been sent/received (other then the PM notifying a post has been deleted). There is also somewhat of an argument to delete accounts that have never posted period and never sent/received a PM after several months, although this argument is somewhat weaker.

If the account has posted or has sent/received a PM then it absolutely should not be deleted.

Re: signature campaign
by
wolfYella
on 16/09/2014, 05:22:32 UTC
Could anyone suggest/recommend a signature campaign suitable for me(NEWBIE). If there is such a legitimate one going around.

You would probably be better of getting a little more acclimated with the forum (getting to know people), reading, replying etc.   This will get you used to how everything operates around here.   In the meantime, you will build up 14 activity points every 2 weeks (every other Tuesday), and once you are a higher level, there will be more signature campaign opportunities for you...
I agree with this. The campaigns that are available to newbies pay very little, and the fact that you need to wait 360 seconds between posts makes it difficult to earn any meaningful amount. I would consider newbie campaigns to be on par with faucets, although not quite as abusive.

Re: As some of us enter Winter, here're some calculations on true cost of mining
by
wolfYella
on 16/09/2014, 05:20:31 UTC
exelent calculations, so this means you have found a very good way to earn out of mining, which miners do you use ?
GPUs :p
I assume you are not going to be mining bitcoin with this setup (likely will use a multi pool with scrypt based coins or some other algo).

I would not at all be surprised to see the difficulty increase as a faster pace this winter as people start to use their ASICs that are no longer energy efficient enough to mine more BTC then they cost in electricity again to help heat their home.
