I had an s17 53th that did not want to play with the new firmware.
To get it back to stock I upgraded to  the bitmain s17 5-24 firmware, then upgraded to the s17 12-25 firmware from the bitmain website using the GUI.
After upgrading to the s17 12-25 firmware it comes up in sleep mode.
Switched to normal mode and away it went. Pools still configured correctly. SSH disabled.

... You can potentially go higher if you like. Target chip temp defaults to 75C so it trys to keep fan power draw low. It makes enough airflow to hold 75C I bet fans are not maxing out. But 62th is a very safe overclock.

Yes, trying to stay safe. If I set the chip temp to 80C fans  throttle up to 100%, then start to slowly drop to about 30%, then throttle back up to 100%, rinse, repeat. So I'm sticking with 75C default for now. Fans at 2500-3300 rpm. I'm going to flash a few more s17 at 62th profile. Don't want anything to break, who knows when replacement parts will be available.

New firmware working great. Have a s17 53th running on a 62th profile. Just selected the 62th profile, let it autotune and now it runs great at 62th.
Chips cool, highest 75C

This is the software on a brand new antminer s17 53th from the factory. They are charging a mining fee on stock firmware? That's robbery. But that was what I was thinking.

Using the 1.0 firmware. Have a s17 53th. On 53th and 58th preset I get 4 x's in a row.
At 62th x's gone. Running 63th, 2678w. 31F ambient, fans at 26%.
Was wondering why stock firmware runs both cgminer AND bmminer at the same time.
The hashrate drops 10th once a minute then back up.

I just use vi, even on the pc. 35 years now on unix, linux, etc...
Just something I noticed.
Used to json files that are formatted and json parsers that deal with formatting.

Remember cgminer.conf is just one line in the text file. If you try to break it up into multiple lines it will not work.

I think you will see the braiins logo not the dragonmint logo if it is a successful flash.

Cannot get braiins to work on t9+. It will boot into OS but will not detect hashboards.
I do like the fact that braiins will bring some boards back from the dead that were toast on original firmware.

I know if I boot from SD card and then try to change DHCP to STATIC and set an IP address it does not take if I reboot into the SD card again. I had to boot into SD, find the DHCP IP, login and flash SD to NAND using GUI, then boot into NAND, THEN set static IP.

end of /etc/cgminer.conf

Code:
,"api-listen":true,"multi-version":"4","fan-dangerous-temp":"109"}

Make it look like this

Code:
,"api-listen":true,"multi-version":"4","fan-dangerous-temp":"109","no-sensor-scan":true}

Using vi /etc/cgminer.conf is one big line.

Just had a temp sensor jump to 176C , pretty sure it is an error. Shuts down cgminer.
Guess I'll go with fixed speed on that one.

Did get 6/5 OS to boot from SD on T9+, will not recognize hash boards. Sad
System.log just spins.

Did you flash from SD to NAND image 6/5 version?
I know the T9+ has 3 small and 3 big hashboard connectors. T9+ uses the big connectors only. Thought I could install a running s9 flashed controller
but hash connectors are bigger on T9+.
I'm going to play with it.
I only have 2 T9+, would really rather run braiins on them.
Guess I'll boot from SD.

I hope my discoveries are helpful to others.

I have found that if I install an xilinx card in an older s9 to install brains the holes don't match up.
This causes the ipreporter button (on left) to be pushed in all the time.
When that happens the boot cycles constantly.
I take off the little front plate on the controller board carrier. Then it will boot successfully.

A corrupt or missing cgminer.conf can cause issues as well, won't start cgminer.

I have had ssh access not available when trying to fix the cgminer.conf.
Had to enable DROPBEAR through the gui to get ssh access.

Another anomaly- running Kaspersky on PC that is using the gui configuration page.
Kaspersky blocks, so you cannot change anything on the configuration page. (pools!)
I just disable Kasperky and then fix the configuration page,  then enable Kaspersky.

Running on 100+ miners, VERY STABLE.

With the 6/5 Braiins firmware pushing the image to the SD card , changing the jumper to boot from SD,
I can use the GUI from the SD card to flash the NAND and fix cgminer.conf missing, and other problems.
The GUI only has the flash option on the 6/5 firmware running from the SD using the new image.

I can pretty much mix and match any s9 hashboards with Braiins. Mixed S9 with T9 boards also(s9 form factor)
Just a wonderful piece of software.

Does braiins work on T9+ yet?
Thanks.

Hello, I just installed Braiins OS on my s9j 14.5 Th, but in the device overview it shows device model as  s9 is it ok ?
Braiins does not distinguish.

I have a few miners that only reported one board temp sensor with december firmware. With 6/5 firmware there are no temp sensors seen on  any boards for a few miners Fans are running 100%, staying cool. Before I could use sensor on one board to control fans. Any way to make that feature act as before?

Also, have had a few controller boards with braiins install from seller that had no ssh access. Enabled dropbear on system->administration to get ssh access.

I use no-sensor-scan when it takes 30 min to boot doing the scan. If at least one board sensor is working it will control the fans.

Did the install bOS into flash memory from a running SD card from the gui system menu. Works great.

Swapped one hashboard showing a temp into each of 7 miners showing no temps on any hashboard.

Now the one hashboard with a temp is controlling the fan for each miner so it doesn't run at 100% .

6/5 installed on farm, smooth install, working great. Thanks Braiins!

Image SD boots right up. No txt file needed.
