[AUCTION] thebittys.com and thebitties.com
by
x0Jakeyboy0x
on 13/06/2016, 16:37:37 UTC
This is an auction for thebittys.com and thebitties.com domain names. I've had these for a couple years now and imagined they may be used for giving away bitcoin related awards similar to the internet awards given by The Webbys.

Going to start the bidding at 0.25BTC

End Time - June 20, 2016, 9:00AM PT

Has anyone ordered a CoolWallet @ Indiegogo yet?

I have.

You might want to review the text on your faq page and blog page for inconsistencies. One place says each of the 5 accounts can have almost unlimited priv/pub key pairs and another spot says only 232 key pairs per account. Wtf? If it truly is BIP32 hd wallet then account would have unlimited key pairs. There are other inconsistencies also but that one seemed extra weird. These kinds of things makes the project look scammy to me. Also if someone were to get your card and paired device could they not easily empty your wallet with the tap tap? Other than that, I think it's a cool wallet that I would use.

There are a few oddities but I'm guessing this is just a language barrier. Just because the wallet is BIP32 and can generate an infinite number of key pairs does not mean it can store them so it could still be BIP32. If coolbitx decides to answer this I'd also like to ask whether or not the private key can in anyway be retrieved from the CoolWallet or not (app, etc.)

So, if Case goes tits up? You're shit out of luck?

If I understand things right, you are correct.

I'm thus far voting on the CoolWallet overall. "Case" looked good but then I read about them using multi-sig and keeping 2/3 keys in their FAQ. I personally don't want the ability for them to "recover" my wallet although I suppose it's better for the everyday consumer.

Quote
Case is extremely secure because it is built on top of a multi-signature, multi-factor architecture with no single point of failure. Your bitcoin wallet has three keys and two of them are needed to complete a transaction. One key is embedded on the device so it is secured by the possession factor. No one can gain access to this key without having possession of the device. However, this key isn’t enough to complete a transaction. A second key is stored on our servers and transactions are only signed by the server key if the fingerprint scan is a match so this key is secured by a biometric factor. That means even if your device is lost or our servers are compromised, your bitcoins are safe. A third key sits in an offline vault and is only used if you ever lose your Case to help your recover your bitcoins.

Gold does not have to be backed by a commodity, because it is a commodity.

I don't agree that it's useless.

I don't agree that perception is reality. Reality is what is is. regardless of what people believe it is.

Adam’s Smith’s greatest student, J. B. Say, wrote two centuries ago: “money is indebted for its currency . . . to its being a commodity bearing a peculiar and intrinsic value.”

"I then submit to you that Bitcoin is a commodity as well." As written by me, the greatest me there will ever be.

And well surely you agree that many other metals are much more useful than gold though, why aren't they more valuable?

Then the reality of the matter is any of the money you have in your wallet is just paper, regardless of what you or anyone else believes it to be worth. The idea of worth and value is defined purely by perception, the only other option being perhaps God.

Let's turn this around a bit.

I am skeptical about gold. It's not backed by anything. It's a fairly useless metal, especially to the everyday person. It fluctuates in price. Why are people so interested in it? Convince me.

Gold is to the Earth as Bitcoin is to the Internet. Perception is reality.

"An honest mixer"  Huh Surely an oxymoron.

Can't think of any reason other than illegal that would require coins to be mixed. But am prepared to be educated otherwise.

I bought some silver with bitcoin once. Absolutely nothing illegal about the deal but I mixed it. I just wanted to preserve my privacy. Who knows what sort of crazy shit the government will come up with some day. Better to be safe than sorry.

That's right. Don't make the mistake of falling into the "I have nothing to hide" category and slowly allowing your privacy to be stripped away.

1)  Seems to be back.  There may be intermittent connectivity issues in next few hours while some other-other next shit cooks in DNS land.

2)  Mad #respeck to Freemoney.  His hard work is why we have bitcoin online poker (mostly) every day.

3)  tytytytytyty for the support of our players in this thread and across our social media outlets.  You guys rock.  You guys are what makes Seals the cool little "poker club" type of community that it feels like today.  Watching you all come back and chatting in the main lobby warms my heart.

4)  there are still some issues being worked out, game server time, freeroll dates, some random images that are not game-facing...  We'll get it worked out.

edit to add:  *** if anyone has an outstanding deposit they feel has not credited their account please msg admin@SwC with details

Since I already made it very clear to you that there is an outstanding deposit on my account I know I won't have to go through any further trouble of messaging admin@SwC with details cause you're handling it. Right, Micon?

I am investigating. I know most that were backed up were paid.

Sent a PM with the block chain transaction of the deposit. Thank you FreeMoney.

Update: Received and all is well. Thank you FreeMoney. Rest up.
