Must be something wrong with the pool I'm on then 600 in an hour with 2,900KH/s.  That's 600.  Not 60k.   Six hundred LOT.   Ffs.

What pool are you on? That's terrible rate with your hashes, what is your cgminer as well?

Our vardiff works fine... we use the same implementation that we use on our other pools.

I run 3MHs rigs and never see diff over 256.

If your struggling, try us out https://lot.nut2pools.com

with my 200kHs is diff 64, I think it's too much

Re: Profitable Bit/Altcoin for CPU Mining on Dedicated Server?
by

I own a dedicated server hosting company and thought I may be able to make some extra profit using one of my unused servers.
What would be most profitable for an E3-1270v2 server to mine? And what about i7-2600?
Do you recommend a mining pool? If so, which one?

Please include statistics to back up your statement if possible! Thanks.

Hi, CPU mining is not profitable, hash rate/W is really low comparing to GPU / ASIC. You can check it here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison#Intel

That setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 is not inside cgminer.conf, but a command at the cmd.exe prompt

Inside the config file, use:

"intensity" : "20",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "24000"
"gpu-threads" : "1",

or

"intensity" : "13",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192"
"gpu-threads" : "2"

alongside the remaining settings

hi wipeout2097
thanks for heping
i tryied both and i get error :
[2013-12-14 12:33:27] Started cgminer 3.5.0

hi chrischer, start cgminer without configuration file, specify all required parameters in command line and later save the configuration file from cgminer menu

Re: Wallets require very long time to start - is it normal?

Hi!

My BTC-wallet for example needs about two minutes after the GUI is ready for synch. Is this normal?
The start screen stays a long time at "verify blocks", after the "real" GUI comes up.

Hi, you can download MultiBit wallet, sync takes just few seconds.
