Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw

if KYC is needed, it should be requested as soon as people register. Asking for KYC only when people have funds stuck is a douchebag move, and any company that does this will lose my business.

Just how to promote exactly. A better ANN thread would be good for this but is it safe to connect?

I think this will be good if they add an option for users to just sign up and they could just deposit a few amounts to risk than risking their entire wallet funds in connecting to a web3 app. Good to let us know whether to turn off the sound or not. Would be waiting for users' review of this site.

Is the default a minute?

Just create a new wallet on metamask, it's like 3 clicks, send a few peanuts there and use it to test. It's what I always do when trying new projects that I don't fully trust, never connect your main wallet.

Re: S17+ "read temp sensor failed"
by

on 28/09/2021, 22:06:56 UTC

This is caused by physical damage, there isn't much you can do to fix it if you don't have the tools and the skills needed.

Notice while the kernel log reports an issue with the temp sensor, this problem is rarely caused by an actual faulty temp sensor, it's usually caused by a bad chip on the hash board the reports the error, in your case chain 2.

Sometimes, the PSU can be the cause, to test this, unplug the other two hash boards and see if this one works, if it does not, then it's not a PSU-related issue and you will have to unplug that hash board and mine with 2 of them.

By the way, this is a very common issue with all the 17 series, at this point probably the vast majority of these miners have lost at least one hash board.

thank you for the quick reply. I've searched and saw some other people with this error that apparently fixed it with another FW or reflashing the FW? Or do my logs change from those?

How do I spot the physical hashboard with chain 2?

Thanks!

Hey guys

So, one of my S17+'s started having this error today and one of the hashboards disappears and the fans slow down.

Here's the log:

I've tried rebooting and upgrading the stock FW, but to no avail.
Any ideas how to workaround this?

Thanks!

New info endpoint

All info you'll need for every cryptocurrency we support, on one, neat, JSON, endpoint.

➡️ More info ⬅️

This is actually a pretty nice improvement!
I use your service in our platform, and we show the prices in USD, so we'd have to fetch the prices from other APIs (with daily caps) to convert to BTC and ETH.
With this new endpoint we can do it all from your API!

Great service, kudos!

Some platforms require KYC even for signing up and trading crypto to crypto, but from experience, it's fairly easy to trade crypto to crypto, there are a number of platforms what will let you do so, or you could always VPN and use services that are closed for US IPs but still accept VPN's (like a couple mentioned in this thread.).

Yes, I was asking as for the legality side of it, if in the US it is required for the platforms to enable KYC even for crypto-crypto only platforms

maybe. i honestly don't know how much longer that model will hold up. you've got american FINCEN closing in on one side and the EU commission on the other. they're picking off the low hanging fruit (like 1broker) first, but the CFTC is already investigating bitmex for allowing americans. bitmex doesn't do KYC and they allow VPN usage. so the CFTC probe is a sign of things to come IMO.

Does the US require KYC even for non-FIAT services? Most of the EU countries only require KYC systems on FIAT-handling services (which let you exchange for FIAT), not crypto-only services.

If you don't want a self hosted payment solution, you will inevitably have to pay some sort of commission. These services just don't work for free.

In my case I ended up using https://cryptapi.io on my gambling website after being done with coinpayments.

They do charge a 1% fee, but I'm ok with it. They settle it immediately and there's no API keys, KYCs or signups necessary.

Auction is LIVE! bid now: https://cryptobids.xyz/details/19301

I put some money on it, made a few bids (both on the rolex and the BTC) and was the winner for a bit, but there seem to be some multi accounts still, they have really fake-y names and they stole the auction in a second.

How did they pass the 2FA? Fake numbers?

You registered multiple accounts to steal the auction from real users and then refused to pay for your bid, asking us to send you the money for free and you would post good publicity here.

Since we denied your request for free money you decided to call us a ponzi scheme....

Here is the proof: https://imgur.com/nQFzeIG

So, now, please crawl back under the rock you just came from.

I still trust your website, but giving away free credits on signup would always lead to this, this is security 101.

I suggest you guys stop the auctions and get some sort of 2FA on signup in place, like SMS or whatever, that way this will be a non issue.

Also, ignore the troll, I've seen him before on other threads trolling people, so just ignore him and fix the vulnerability.
