Re: buying bitcoin and the seeming impossibility of keeping anonymous
by
xcaret
on 07/05/2021, 01:13:05 UTC
You want to buy bitcoin and be anonymous ? That's the very least of your problems !!
So you go to Tor and take great precausions to keep your name secret .
Well ,being that most people buy BTC with the hope it goes up in value , and that is where your real trouble lays .
How are you going turn your gain back into dollars ,and be anonymous ??
You can't , and then comes taxes ,yep, your fucked no matter what you do.
Buy BTC with after tax dollars ,and have no fear of being "caught for something illegal" then sell and report your gain, just like the rest of us honest patriotic people do.
Only a low life would be scheeming how to cheat the government .

Are any mainline stores accepting BTC
by

⭐ Merited by OmegaStarScream (2)
Once again, I'm wondering how to spend some bitcoin. I paid a fee to buy it, and to convert it back into cash is an even larger fee. I have yet to find a store accepting it.
I don't mind watching it go up in value, but times are tuff, and that's why I invested a little in BTC.
What is the end game when we sell??  Does the tax man take most of it ?
My 3 banks I deal with won't accept transfers from crypto exchanges . I don't want to convert it to cash if there are merchants accepting it .
How about Amazon??

Here in Calgary Alberta ,Canada , you can buy a house through your local realtor.
Len Wong realty advertises that they accept bitcoin.
Of coarse it's all going to be KYC, and AML procedure ,but if your a straight shooting tax paying citizen, who profited by investing in BTC, go for it .

The bank will not waste their time examini8ng transfers ,unless they are forced to do so because of Bank ,or Government rules . And even then almost any answer satisfies them, because ,by asking ,they have followed their rules . Just stay under $10,000 ,

Here we go again. A 31 year old newbie sitting in his mothers basement ,stuffing his mouth with pizza his mother brings home from her job.
And unlike the other newbie claiming to have 50,000 BTC lost in his pc, this ones even offering a 6 million $ a reward .  Ha, ha ,and you fools actually replied as though it's real !!
The gulabillity of some suckers on here is the real joke .

Re: Anyone over here accepting Crypto as payment ?...
by

Here in Canada , we have an online advertisment site , much like Criags List used to be .It's called Loelist.   Most of the Ladies advertising their services accept bit coin.  They lso have to pay Leolist in bitcoin fir their ad. I found this out last fall when I decided to sell my BTC, I bought them for $500.00 2 years ago ,and didn't pay attention to them when they didn't go up in value right away.
I heard on the radio they were becoming a bit more valuable and my $500 had risen to $750 if I cashed out.
I calculated how many visits to my favorite girl that would allow me.

I started looking for other things to buy with my BTC, but very few retail outlets were taking BTC.
I was about to book a visit with Alina, when the price started going up ,Wow, this was great . I had long ago written my investment off as a bad move , now things were getting interesting .
f that I kept watching as BTC grew in value ,until one day ,Jan 8 2021 ,at the top of that surge ,I traded my now $2200 in BTC credit with Alina .
I hardly used up much of my credit when BTC started leaping even higher . Alina was so happy I'd paid her in advance I started getting special consideration, . It evolved into a personal relationship ,and we now go skiing together ,and stay over at each others homes .
I lost out quite a bit by selling at what appeared the top oif the market, but Canadian 2200 soon became about $3200 id I'd held on. All in all , things worked out great . I don't have any more BTCm,but I'm not paying to date my girl anymore , it;'s all free . Yipee !

Re: Australian law could make internet ‘unworkable’, says World Wide Web inventor

A few years ago an American politician suggested limiting the internet to subscribed channels.
I have no idea how the net works ,and hopefully the pos who thought it was a good idea has more knowledge than I have.
He wanted to limit the areas that we could surf, maybe only south west USA , but you could pay for an extended range , and pay more for an even more extended area to connect with.
I'm sure internet providers would love it.
Sort of like buying tv channels in packages .

I notice a dip in several stocks , could be that the wiser investors are now trading in BTC ?

I sold several ounces of gold ,to buy in a week ago.  I'm a happy guy .

Re: Why do ordinary people feel afraid of Bitcoin?
by
xcaret
on 15/02/2021, 18:30:29 UTC
unless you have $10,000 or more to invest , I'd look at BTC as a gamble .

You don't get instant gratification, or the opposite like a slot machine gives. but it can be something you look at every day, and you could consider it like a long term investment . Unlike buying a share in General Electric, or another company that plods along giving you little dividends , BTC can make you richer than the best paying stock.  It can give you something to dream about if your life is mundane ,and going nowhere.

Yeah ,here in Canada ,the dunderhead running the country back then decided to float our dollar too.
Nothing behind it .
BTW his son got voted in as prim minister , and his experience in life is that he was a part time drama teacher .
It's true , not an ounce of political savy in his head !

Re: Intrinsic value of Bitcoin and Gold

yeah , but if gold collapses ,you still have something in your hand.
Better than a seed of 24 words and a Ledger nano S .

But I too am holding BTC, waiting for the price to go up.

I have a few 1oz. gold coins too, but I don't expect their price to sky rocket .
I bought then in 2016 and the price has risen about $800 per ounce .
Pretty good compared to the stock market , but BTC leaves gold in the dust .

If BTC were to permanently freeze at one price , would you buy ?
by
xcaret
on 12/02/2021, 21:21:58 UTC
So let's say BTC was to be absolutely frozen from here on at todays price ,would you still buy?

I don't think BTC was intended as the speculation tool it has turned into .

Who on here regularly makes purchases using BTC ?
