All,
One of the links on the site above has old, incorrect info on it:
https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/10955-re-ann-failcoin-community-is-taking-over/

We should probably look for links pointing to the old FAILCoin and get the pages they point to updated.

Hey Spartak!!!

We were discussing games at the moment. What else did you have in mind? I, like you, am always interested in hearing new and interesting ideas for our beloved coin :O)

OK FAILERZ!

Which games do you want to see built around FAILCoin? In other words, which games would you consider playing, if they were made available?

Hey Bates,
Which type of games were you thinking we should write for fail? I can get my guys working on it once we decide. We will need to restrict our choices to either very simple games, or games that we can purchase source code for and modify to use FAILCoin. We can do BlackJack, Poker, a simple dice game, keno, etc...
How about the rest of you? What would you like to see in terms of FAILCoin games?

Spartak, I see.
Well, let's see if they're still interested in helping code for us. If not, we'll have to come up with another solution. Like us, I'm sure they're busy people too. It's hard to work all day and then have to come home and code for us Failers for free. Let's get in touch with your coders and see if there's anything we can do to get things moving again.

We can discuss things at #failcoin on freenode. (Or another IRC, if you like.) Maybe Bates wants to join in too :O)
I'd like to talk about what else needs to be done: Faucets, giveaways, contests, promo ideas, etc...

Once I finish getting my (very modest) exchange coded, I'm going to have a few crypto-currency gaming sites setup. Something along the lines of Poker, BlackJack, Roulette, etc...Whatever the Failcoin community would like to see. I hope that games using FailCoin will help bolster our position in the crypto world. But we can talk about that later. Let me know when you're available to chat on IRC. I live in San Diego, CA, by the way, just in case we're in different time zones.

Sweet dreamz all you cryptonauts and failerz!

Hey guys (Bates / Spartak),
I'm sorry to hear your devs failed :O( Why are they no longer interested in coding for us?

What was it you were hoping to do? Maybe I can persuade them with a little sweet-talk and a few dollars to keep moving forward? PM me or let's Skype to discuss in greater detail.

By the way, I just purchased a gridseed Blade (5.2MH/s) ASIC and am currently testing it on Failcoin. Hopefully this thing will run stable. I'll post results for those who are interested in 5.2MH/s at a mere 140 watts.

Hey guys,
I sent you 100,000,000 fail. (I didn't realize you can only send 10,000,000 fail at a time.) As always, don't hesitate to ask if there's anything I can do to help.

Woohooo,
I was the first one to buy FAIL on SwissCex! (I only had 80doge left, so I only bought a few thousand FAIL.)
By the way, I just downloaded the new wallet. I updated my conf file, as I wasn't sure whether that was a required step. FAILCoin synced and all is working properly. Again, great job guys!
As always, please let me know if you have anything specifically you would like me to help with :O)

Hey Guys,
Great job. I'm very glad to see you've implemented "halving" and the other changes you mentioned. Failcoin shirts sound cool. I know someone who is pretty good at shirt design. I'll speak with him sometime next week and get some input.

A small web cart with a couple of items like t-shirts and other failoin paraphernalia would be cool, too. As I said, I have a few devs working on a small coin trading website; I will see if they can quickly put something together for shirts and other small items...

They've also informed me that a gaming site centered around FAILCoin wouldn't be too terribly expensive. It would entail poker and maybe another simple game. Which games would the community like to see?

Hey Guys,
I'm headed over to the FB page to like FAILCOIN right now!
Has anyone been able to find a crypto-coder? I really think we need to either:
1. Expand the number of coins possible. Maybe allow another 100mil per year once the coins are mined out.
2. Put an algorithm in place to "Halve" the block reward, so we don't run out of coins too quickly.
...or maybe both.
If I understand cryptocurrency correctly, if all coins are mined, no one will mine. If no one's mining, no transactions are processed. If no transactions are getting processed, no one can spend the coin. I'd like the coin to be available as a tipping system for many years to come; this may require us to make a few changes to the current FAILCoin implementation. (We should double-check my assumption here, but I think that's how it works.)

I don't mind paying to have the work done, but we need a coder to do it. We should also consider implementing some of the new security mechanisms like KGW, etc...

As crypto-currencies evolve, we, as a community, eventually ascertain their strengths and their weaknesses. As the FAIL community, we should be on the lookout for any potential problems and fix them where applicable. So, be on the lookout for any crypto-coders. I'd like to have them take a look at the code and warn us if they see any glaring problems moving forward.

Hey Batesresearch,
I've done some coding in the past, but I have no idea how to code with crypto-currencies. I would think anyone who wants fail coin would simply add their failcoin address to their submission, and the posters in the forum would send them coin...once everyone has some failcoin, of course. A faucet would be very cool...then everyone who wanted to tip, could do so easily.
Anyway, I'm here if there's anything specifically you want me to do. I don't see myself coding the buttons you mentioned, but if I knew more, maybe I could help. I've also got a few developers that aren't versed in crypto-currency, but might be able to help with simple stuff.

coin123123,
We do it because we like the coin. Who cares if CCex dropped it. We can always trade on sites like coin-swap.net. Heck, even the developer gave up on the coin.

Unfortunately, if you got into FAILCOIN for the money, you probably picked the wrong coin. It may never be worth anything, but the idea is priceless :O) These coins are better suited for use in a community rather than a vehicle to create wealth...

If you don't want your coins, send them to us...we'll use them as give-aways to new failers :O)

coin123123, sorry FAILCOIN wasn't all you hoped it would be, but we wish you luck in your crypto-currency journey.

Masterkiller,
We don't have a block explorer yet. I'm not sure that any of us even knows how to code one. We're definitely on the lookout for someone who can code a block explorer. Know anyone with coding skillz?

Hello Dragann,
There is a way to re-download the entire blockchain by moving a few files from one of the failcoin directories. I don't remember exactly off-hand, but you can look up the process. Some of the files included blk001.dat and index??.dat. I copied them to a backup folder and then restarted the failcoin wallet to download the blockchain again. Maybe if you re-download the blockchain, your coins will be confirmed?

Again, please look up the process and remember to backup file before you delete them. OR better yet, don't delete them, but move them to a backup folder.

Good luck!

KnightDK,
Yep, this is a cool coin. Hopefully, we can get other's interested in it too Smiley
Batesresearch, no, I didn't know there was source code. Do you mean source code for the failcoin? That would be cool, as this coin should "halve" sometime soon, so we don't mine it out.
