Re: The fate of the Miners

There's always going to be a group of miners that will remain profitable- that's just how mining works, and difficulty adjustments will make things more profitable eventually. Mining will always continue on major cryptocurrencies, as even if people stop mining, difficulty will eventually correct itself to make mining profitable again, and blocks will continue to be mined.

I've personally chosen to turn off essentially all my mining rigs and I am currently just purchasing and holding cryptocurrencies. Many others on this subforum have chosen to do the same. Just keep in mind that if you're mining at a loss, you're essentially buying coins at market price plus electrical and maintenance fees- not an ideal situation.

thats not actually true. I am basically mining at a loss now with the latest dumps, but getting free heating, im making around 0.00025 day btc using 300w and at 0.113 kwh means im basically buying btc at 3250€, thats cheaper than the 3900€ its at now.

I stopped mining in july, too little profit to deal with the heat, and sold most of of my gpus. I kept a couple, one at each location i mine ( home and work). I just started again with them, its getting colder now so its basically free heating and a small 1$ day profit ( a 1080ti can basically still do like 50c day after electricity) after 0.12 electric cost. which i basically just trade for btc and hodl it in case sometime the next couple of years it takes off again.

once it starts getting warmer again ill stop unless the situation has changed drastically.

I have 2 270x which i bought in december under 60eu, i roied them in about to weeks back then. They are bit power hungry but as long as u have cheap electricity ( i have a flat fare) they will be making a profit, not much these days though. They dont have many good algos but here is my combined hashrates with what i mine, mind no bios mod.

criptonight v7 : 930h
equihash: 395h
neoscrypt: 1150h
ethereum: 21mh

i run them at 80% so the power draw is around 300w forr both.

im cpu mining kiwi now, its a minable erc20 token with the difficulty so low atm and no pool that its a gas race not a hash race, so its actually better to mine u with cpu as u have to solo mine thus pay the ethereum network gas fee for ur blocks earned.

be warned though its speculative mining ( and gambling) right now.

Claymore's CN miner 11.3 gives on my 270X 4Gb 550-551 h/s.
SRB max 546 h/s.
Not bad result, but Claymore's miner without fee and gives a bit higher speed.
SRB can't read hardware sensors from 270X, Claymore's do that...

umhh my 270x is more like 470h/s with claymore, and less with srb.

what settings are you using? oc, intensity etc

Anyone with 2700???

Must be 10 or 15% better than 1700

Yeah.
I Was thinkin of getting a 2700x due to the stock cooler.
But all depends on hashrate.
If it can pull 780-850 hashrate it would be Nice.

Let's see
I prefer 2700 with 65w instead of 2700x with 105w

you can run a 2700 at 105w and a 2700x at 65w, it all depends on ur overclock/underclock and voltage settings. I Personally prefer 2700 but if u give it a goo overclock ur gona be running most likely at 90-100w too.

yeah bsdos is overloaded i think, went down momentarily but up again and hopefully more stable now. i was just getting loads of rejects on both rigs at the same time leading to disconects.

hash rate is crazy high in bsod 380gh and near 20k miners on the coin. It might be a good idea to spread the hashrate to other pools. Problem is the hash rate is so much bigger its gona be hard finding bloks on other pools unless there is a consensus to Split up

Re: AMD Ryzen hashrate?
by

on 13/02/2018, 13:19:07 UTC
Doesn't really matter. CPU mining will never be as profitable. Whatever hashrate new Ryzen processors are getting they will never hit ROI so there is no point in buying them with mining in mind, and if you want to mine from time to time there is no profit (just a few bucks)

are you serious? do some research, it is true that cpu has lower roi but they will hit it... When zec was out the first 2 weeks were great for cpu miners + ryzen should have greater performance and consumption, I need some cpu to my rig, why not buy on which can earn me money?
If you are right why are everyone using GPU over CPU now ? Difficulty is constantly increasing and with low CPU hashrate you will eventually be in a loss. Ryzen cannot earn you money. For that 350$ (1700) you can get almost RX 470 and for a few more bucks you can get another one. CPU mining is just a nonsense. I asked you something last time. Chose cpu and algo and please let us all know what is ROI time and then compare invested money with some GPU in same price range and then tell me CPU mining is any profitable.

GPU/CPU depends on the algo selected for the coin. Some GPUs cannot mine certain algos (Nvidia cards cannot mine Xevan algo) so for a person with an Nvidia coin who wants to mine xevan, a bank of CPUs may be better for them, even though they wont be getting a lot of coins.

RX470 prices are up to $900 on some sites. on new egg its $470, good luck finding them in stock. And say you buy one for $350 like you say, where can you get a second for "a few more bucks"? that's a hell of a deal

what the hell are you talking about, nvidia mines xevan just fine. Ive been mining xlr with my 2 1070s and 1 1080ti at over 12mh/s

back on topic my ryzen 1700 seems to be be getting low hashrate compared to some people here. I have it oced at 3.5 and using xmrig im getting around 550h/s. cpu load sits just above 50% though as its only using 8 threads.

Hey guys I have been following this thread and had good profits because of it! Smiley. I see that cropcoin ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2863802.320 ) is getting listet on crypto-bridge now, might be a "speculative" mining option.
Is there a cropcoin calculator somewhere?
nowhere. why do you don`t want to calculate yourself? it`s not difficult and if your can do it once - you`ll need not any calculators.

where can i find the fomula to do the calc myself?

have been wanting to learn to do so for a while now.

prices from stocksexchange are not showing up correcty.

Take mun coin, its being listed at .002489 but the actual Exchange rate in the Exchange is 0.00174.

It would also be nice if you could add kucoin to the exchanges list.
