Coinmarketcap BURST coin entry, the website it links to is gone...

Is BURST a dead project? Taken over from original devs?
any feedback about this guys I'm not sure and I'm also interested if there's already any take over?

BURST was taken over ages ago and development is continuing. You are both already posting in one of the "new" threads.

and which pool is good for 1.2 tb? Thanks community

For the moment I prefer http://pool.burstmining.club:8124/ but don't expect to much with only 1.2TB for Burst.
I have sold most of my HDDs and stay only with 14,5TB for the moment. The past daily payments have been in range 25-120 Burst

We also mine with this pool and currently we mine with 23TB and get around 50 to 150 Burst per day and the average for mining a block is around 7 to 10 days for us with this rig. This pool is almost at 800 miners so it is getting difficult to mine Burst now.
with the current value are you still getting good profits or you are in a break even status? still im not done trying setting up my mining system
as i only got 2TB and im not sure if its still getting somewhere to mine with burst or the difficulty will not allowed me to earn that much.

Burst mining is coming to its end, if you plan to mine with your own hardware than why not.. but do not buy other hdds only for burst... you'll probably never see the ROI

BURST mining will not end for quite some time, if your HDDs don't die within a year you will most likely ROI on them. Just don't expect it to happen overnight.

Are there any wallets that do not need the blockchain?
I am a few days trying to make the official wallet work, but the blockchain always the problem at some point of the download and I need to clean the database, nor the online wallet I can access with my access key.

I would like to try to mine that coin, but it's hard to start!

Can I mine without using my official wallet?

Sorry for bad english!

Download the bootstrap blockchain from http://burstwallet.io/burstcoin-blockchain-download/ that should get you going fast.

This tutorial is also helpful https://steemit.com/burst/@jackmanmania/how-to-mine-burst-coin if you haven't figured out all the details yet.

Hello.
We need assistance of BURST developers. Several of outgoing transactions got stuck with 1 confirmation.

Could you clarify why this happens and what do we have to do?

Seems to me all your transactions got through fine, for example http://burstcoin.biz/transaction/9374359284092483123

I am unsure what happened to your transactions, I would check the usual stuff: time sync, java memory etc. At least until devs chime in.

Hello there,

I am Baryom, bitsler's main admin (www.bitsler.com)  A lot of our players asked us to add BURSTCOIN to our casino. We will implement it in the next following weeks. Nice job, keep going   Wink

Cheers,

That is great to hear!

Yes we have been doing well mining Burst coin and everyone should start mining Burst as it's easy to get started.

It would be even easier if there was a decent LINUX-based miner.

AFAIK the only one available is that JAVA-based "GPU assisted" thing, which I can't use as all the GPUs in my LINUX rigs are dedicated to running OTHER mining stuff, while the CPUs generally sit pretty much idle.

You might want to check out this page http://burstcoin.biz/downloads

All the tools are available for linux (CPU and GPU plotters as well as miners).
None are as user-friendly as Win stuff, but shouldn't pose any problems for someone experienced in *nix

Hi all,

I am trying to setup a miner on Raspberry Pi. Problem is that I do not find any miner working on ARM device.
I don't mind if is not efficient since the pi is running anyways, so I attached a small disk with a plot written to it to the pi for some additional mining.

If anyone has a working setup with an ARM device, would be nice to provide the link for the miner.

Check here https://github.com/dawallet/burst_arm_tools

Kartojal used to have a pi setup running, but his git repo is no longer up, you can try contacting him, https://github.com/kartojal
I haven't seen him around for ages though.

Also our dear Luxe has plenty of nice things starred Cheesy  https://github.com/de-luxe?tab=stars

i have noticed lately that some of the blocks are taking forever to solve.  either there are fewer people taking part or the pools are pushing the diff up.  at the same time there is a decent and gradual rise in the coin value, so it looks like burst is making its next move up the ladder

Since the last few blocks contained some 10 million BURST moving towards exchanges, primarily Poloniex, I would expect some sell-offs Smiley

Just so we don't get too much ahead of ourselves Smiley

that is a good point, but like in the FIAT economy.....any moving money is good money

Naturally, shows that we are alive Smiley

Re: Mining alghoritms

Hi everybody,
What i really don't like about bitcoin is the waste of computing power (= waste of resources) it needs to secure the network, and how things would get worse the more bitcoin becomes successful.

Because of this I was wandering which are, actually, alternative mining alghoritms that you are aware of, and possibly their pros/cons.
I'd mantain such list in this OP and maybe group them up in a website if it could be useful, and discuss about mining alghoritms here to maybe come out with a new greener mining alghoritm or best block generation approach

If a post like this already exists (or website links) then please point me to it
thanks

What about something like Primecoin, a "dual use" of mining so to speak? http://primecoin.io/index.php

Well now, nothing sparks trust more than a site that has a portmanteau of "crypto" and "multiply" as its title.

I will surely at least double my "invesments" in 200 hours. Perhaps you should've gone with "craptiply" for the domain?

So, I started a crowdfunding project, and then I pledged 1000 Burst to it, expecting to get the 1000 Burst back into my account, to test that the service works, and my 1000 Burst has vanished into thin air. Can someone help me?

It looks like my Burst is sitting in the account BURST-GUR6-VHE5-463Y-DJ57H, but I have no understanding why.

BURST-GUR6-VHE5-463Y-DJ57H is the address of the CF you created, it holds the funds until they are ready to be disbursed.

What duration of the CF did you specify when creating the CF? You will not get BURST back until that time runs out. CF smart contracts are designed in such a way, unlike the Auction smart contract which has a "buy now" feature.

Also, my memory being fuzzy, I cannot recall what happens if the total amount in the CF address is not sufficient to cover the payment+fee, as is the case here. You probably won't get anything back. You might want to send some more BURST, lets say 50 more, before the CF runs out.

but forum is down so can't login to wallet or forum

Oh thanks for that, just got in and could not access, wondered if it was me. Local Wallet is ok if you have it up and running?

Rich

I only have online one, there was a ninja online wallet link but can't remember it..I hope someone comes here to post it lol as i only have the online wallet..
You might mean: http://burst.ninja:8125/index.html

But you should not used it, as the connection might not be secure. Remember, you are sending your passphrase to the server every time you do something and it could be scooped up in some cases.

Passphrase is never sent to the remote server, everything is done locally by your browser.

Speculation is not an argument: if you want to disprove Riddikulo's original post, do it with evidence and research.

Clearly, Riddikulo has little interest in your questions - I can't say he is wrong not care about you Grin

Aaaand we're back with 140+ IQ level reasoning, I did not make the claim, the burden of proof is on him. I did not say I am looking to confirm or disprove it, I asked for him to show some data.

Whether he cares about me or not is beside the point, if he doesn't show data or, at least, some educated guesswork he did not show shit.

Keep on shilling for ETH my punjabi mate, seems like you got skin in the game.

My family is from the India, Punjab and they are from a farming heritage!

If, you want too call me CHAV - then I'll stick up up for those downtrodden people - why not? However, I do not where sports clothing Cheesy

I have brother who graduated from Cambridge University, another graduated from University College London. Another, who went to London School Economics, but dropped out too pursue other interests.

As for myself, I do have problems with writing English - grammar, spelling and so on. Therefore, I didn't enjoy school and didn't excel, especially in written timed exams.

My IQ is 142, which (at the time) was 5 points short of joining MENSA, but I was smoking cigarettes at the time and that takes 7 points of IQ test results.

It is fairly obvious that you have issues in reading english as well. I dare say more so than writing it.
I can beat your IQ numbers and then some (I still smoke Cheesy), however that measure is so irrelevant it is pointless to bring it up in any sort of discussion. I guess people just love to boast.

Therefore, the person posting is saying that their are 800,000 CPUs mining ALTs, which there is no way too validate, even if you had an interest in mining with CPUs.

Finally you got it. I believe such a bold claim warrants some backing up. You claim it is impossible to validate. I ask Riddikulo whether he tried to.

But, if you do mine with CPUs - you would be able to work too do a rough calculation by adding up hashrates for ALTs that have CPU mining on them and dividing that by the average hashrate per CPU.

Pretty tedious too do Grin

That is why I was wondering whether Riddikulo has in fact performed such calculations, read them somewhere, or did he just pull a number out of his ass. Third option is by far the most likely and the least interesting.

Seems to me, mate, that you are far from an Oxford man. Rather, everything points to you being a chav mate.

Again, where is the data to back up the claim that there are 20 times more CPUs mining other coins than there are GPUs mining Ethereum?

I care nothing about benchmarks and hashrate estimates the way you present them.
If you can use the estimates to show the 20x relationship described above I will credit you with original research.

[...] where as many as 20X this number of CPUs are already in use for other altcoins. [...]

Could you kindly share where do you get this figure from?

People, are constantly doing calculations for 51% attacks, they are posted all over the place.

Just google it, if you are that interested in it, rather than being lazy and asking someone else to do your own work.

And, at least 2 of the tiny coins (minimal-like cash startups) imitating the Ethereum Foundation's algorithm open source information, have had successful 51% attacks on them - so, yes it does happen when the hashrate is really tiny on the Dagger algorithm.

However, I'd reckon that direct clone coin of Ethereum, does not have to worry about a Classic 51% attack Grin

Where did I say anything about me being interested in 51% attack on ETH? Riddikulo asserted a claim that as many as 20X the number high end GPUs in CPU power is being used to mine other altcoins. I find that a pretty interesting claim.
My searches on that topic come up pretty empty, therefore I asked him to share the research, paper, blog post, or at least an educated guess where he gets that number from.

Perhaps you could try reading with some comprehension before calling me lazy, or at least change your nick to "thevictimofukeducationsystem".

I wish Blago's miner did NOT go automatically to upper-left-corner - why doesn't it go where the profile layout configuration TELLS it to go like almost any other Windows program?

Upper left corner is THE VERY WORST PLACE you can put any console.

IIRC that is the default windows setting for anything running in a console. I.e. Sergej did not place it there intentionally, it just runs that way by default.
