Regarding market cap and circulation, bitcoin destroys YFI. Just because a coin is more expensive does not mean it is better.

Re: Chances of BTC surpassing the value of Fiat Money
by

on 05/12/2020, 00:31:01 UTC
Fiat is currently the standard of our world's financial system. However with the constant inflation and the US as well as other nations printing money. Fiat is inevitably losing value due to inflation and will die out.
It wont happen soon, but definitely in the near future.
This is when bitcoin will come and save the day  Grin

Re: Bitcoin transaction can be lost? forever stuck transaction in mempool

It will not be lost as that is not possible  Grin
You can always use RBF with electrum if you are afraid that your transaction will be stuck. This exact same thing happened to me and I had to switch wallets temporarily just so my tx could be mined.
At worst if your tx does not go through and RBF does not work don't worry as it will not loop within blocks. Instead, your tx will be cancelled and your funds returned to your wallet after I believe one month since the initial spend.

This is a blatant rip off of the bustabit v1 site and similar to previous scam crash games such as catchabtc...

Also lists this as a non-trustworthy site. I would stick with other trusted gambling sites...

Re: Should Crypto users use VPN's ? You decide.....
by
xnarf
on 02/12/2020, 22:14:21 UTC
The use of VPN's is basically snake oil and does nothing anonymous-wise. It is only used to hide your IP from potential "hackers" and does not provide anonymity for any, lets call it "intricate", events. Surprisingly there is no way to stay 100% anonymous on the internet. However, a good option compared to using a VPN is Tor or hosting your own offshore servers as your own VPN.

This website and "wallet" looks ridiculously suspicious. The logo on the website is not even sized properly for responsiveness and the format of the website screams a scam. Do not download this wallet.

If you are starting out with bitcoin the wallets I recommend for beginners is Exodus or Electrum.
You can check them out both below:

Hey everyone.
What do you think is the best software bitcoin wallet and why?
Personally I think the best wallet is a combination of security and ease of UI. My current favorites are WasabiWallet and Electrum.

What are yours?

Re: Holding or Scalping ? what do you chose
by

HODL > Scalping
Hodling is much more effective as you literally hold your coins and do no work at all. Hodling is always efficient in the long run as bitcoin will inevitably increase.

Re: who are those real rich elite who invest in bitcoin ?
by

Rich elites who invest in bitcoin would keep it anonymous for profitable reasons until bitcoin is mainstream.
Currently major investors are either whales or institutions such as Grayscale, Square and Microstrategy.

Re: i trust more bankers and banks then bitcoin
by
xnarf
on 29/11/2020, 21:15:01 UTC
Bitcoin is decentralized and is controlled by you. You hold your keys which means you control your crypto. You are your own bank. Whilst banks have advantages of customer support, you still have to go through the hassle of KYC, long confirm transfers, possible freezing, information leakage, etc. Bitcoin has none of this.

Regarding your question of bitcoin shutting down, that is not possible. Bitcoin is a P2P network which means as long as 2 or more people have bitcoin. It will be mined to emit transactions. Everyone can mine, which means you yourself can support bitcoin transactions.

Still sceptical? Check out the bitcoin uptime  Grin

Re: People still don't know about Bitcoin
by
xnarf
on 29/11/2020, 21:07:25 UTC
Until Bitcoin becomes mainstream it is only a concept that is heard of by others. This may be for the better as it allows people who know about it to take advantage of bitcoin before the it is adopted in the future. When Apple or Microsoft first came out it was simply a concept. As time transcended, it was finally adopted to the monopolies we see today.

No one can predict the bitcoin market  Grin
Just DCA if investing, Bitcoin may crash to $10,000 tomorrow or hit new highs at $100,000. It is simply too volatile to guess values.
HODL
lol, bitcoin price is unlikely to fall to $10k again because the current support is already very strong and many people are already familiar with digital currencies so someone is placing buy orders in hagra between $15k, so bitcoin prices won't be that bad it collapses for the increase in the price of bitcoin I can not confirm where the price is clear, the price of bitcoin has the potential to go up more than you mentioned.

You are definitely right, I was saying this in a hypothetical sense that it does not matter where BTC goes to. Just HODL and DCA instead of wasting your time, "predicting/timing" the market.

Re: Are you scared?
by

Bitcoin is safer than fiat, in the end its the user who is the main source of security. Bitcoin has only been here for approx 11 years. Fiat has been for centuries. Like when the internet was first created, people were skeptical. All it takes is early adoption + experience, and the fear will wash away.

Re: Is bitcoin anonymous?
by
xnarf
on 28/11/2020, 00:44:53 UTC
Depends on usage, however, bitcoin is not 100% anonymous. Bitcoin addresses can only be tracked towards an owner if linked with other sites or if "dusted" with exchanges tracked. Bitcoin has a blockchain explorer with any address able to be located and tracked. A truly anonymous option would be an altcoin such as Monero.
