Hi Guys,
I installed the Solaris Core wallet last month, and swapped my coins over.
I was going to backup the wallet.dat file (like I had done in the past).... but I can't find it on my PC.
Tried locating %appdata%/Solaris/ and nothing was found.
I have to reinstall Windows operating system, which is why I wanted to make sure the wallet was backed up.
Assuming my computer is destroyed....and I get a new one... can I simply restore the wallet on another device just by using the secret words and passwords? i.e. no backup files needed?
Thanks for your help... just don't want to blow it!

Does anyone know if the following activity is the Solaris Core Wallet?

I opened the wallet on my computer (Windows). I hasn't synced in a while....

Norton Antivirus says it's blocked a "high risk" ... "Attack by- System Infected- Coinminer Activity 19."

Attacking computer: 94.16.118.99, 60020

Just want to confirm, rather than assume, that this is the wallet just trying to sync before I figure out how to get Norton to stop blocking it!

thanks guys

Norton is notorious for false positives. There are no viruses and no attacks from the Solaris wallet.

I appreciate your reply. Smiley)

I wanted to make sure that the activity being detected was actually the wallet (and not something else)... figured it was... but better safe than sorry!

My Solaris Wallet won't load now.

Hoping you good people can help me again!

I had my computer off for a month or so while I was moving. It worked fine previously... I had / still have the latest version installed (2.8.0.0).

These are the error messages I get:

1. SOLARIS CORE - ERROR. Failed reading from database. pcoinsTip best block is not correct. The block database is in an inconsistent state and may cause issues in the future. To force start use -forcestart.

2. Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way...

What do I need to do to get the wallet running again, please?!?

This is what happens when you forcibly close the wallet when it asks you to wait for it to close.

You can solve it by removing all data from the data directory except wallet.dat. Then start the wallet and let it sync again. Never ever ignore that screen that says "Do not close" again.

Advice: Some people tend to logoff or shutdown when the wallet is running. Windows wont wait for the wallet to close properly which can lead to this behaviour.

Thank you very much, *keesdewit and *schyter.

Forgive my ignorance... what exactly is included in the "data directory"? I know - a very dumb question - but I honestly don't know what you mean exactly by "all data in the data directory."

I found a bunch of Solaris Wallet files and folders by typing %appdata%/Solaris. (folders: "backups, blocks, chainstate, database, sporks, zerocoin + several files). Should I just delete all of these, EXCEPT for the wallet.dat and the 2 others schyter mentioned?

Hi, needing some help with my desktop wallet (Windows 64 bit)

I can't get the wallet to open - due to "MinGW Runtime Assertion" box that pops up. It says "Assertion failed!..."

I also just realized that I probably need to update the wallet. (I've got 2.2.0.0). Would this be the reason for the Assertion failed?

I downloaded the latest version.

Now what? I haven't even opened the file because I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.

I'd be grateful for some help from any of you experts out there. Thank you!

Yes, you must update to 2.4.0.0.

If you still her the Runtime error, do this:

1. Stop/shutdown your wallet client if it is running.
2. Go to %appdata%/solaris/ (Open your file explorer and type that into the path field)
3. Delete all files and folders EXCEPT wallet.dat (Back-up this file somewhere safe as well), solaris.conf and masternode.conf (I REPEAT, DO NOT DELETE wallet.dat, solaris.conf and masternode.conf)
4. Start your wallet client and let it sync, your balance will be visible when you are synced.

Thank you very much.
I downloaded the update zip file. I didn't want to open the file until I know exactly how to perform the update. What should I do exactly?
I know -- dumb question -- but I don't want to lose my coins!

Thank you Smiley

Just unzip it and use it. That's it.

Easy enough. All the best.

Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD

Even if the address is known, is it possible to find the responsible party and retrieve the funds?  I also ask because I lost a significant sum of VERI and I know the address to which it was sent.  Maybe there is hope?  Needless to say, it's been tough watching the price skyrocket!

Hi Khylst, would you mind sharing more of the specifics about how you lost the VERI... how were you scammed into sending it to the thieves' address? I'm new to cryptos and am here to learn. If we can learn from you ... that would be awesome! Thank you Smiley
