Everyone is dreaming about it here.

(Which is precisely the reason it's not gonna happen.)

If you try PMing Trade Fortress on this forum it says he is blocked your account. Has he blocked everyone from PMing him or just selected those people who he owes money?
Everyone.

All the "mixing" transactions were supposedly relayed by blockchain.info. I see a fairly high probability it's indeed an online wallet.

The initial hack was different.

A lot of people have heard about Bitcoin by now.
Very few have actually tried it.

IMHO the innovation phase was from 2009 to late 2012 and the beginning of 2013 period marked the transition to the "early adopters" phase. We are still there.

JackMehoff, 1800badcredit.com.au is not working... The domain name is registered to you but there are no A records for it ? www.1800badcredit.com.au is ok.
That being said, I like your idea and hope you will be able to strike a deal with TradeFortress.

This is getting from bad to worse. So CL had 6000+ BTC loaned out ? Really ??

TF, it would be a very good idea to publish a balance sheet, we're getting a bit nervous around here.

GOT 100% of my BTC back.  Thankyou Tradefortress!

However, it's still stuck in CL and I can't get it out yet so it's not really mine.  I can't be bothered reading the last few days of posts but I'm sure there's something about it.

I didn't lose my coins directly from io, I transferred them out of CL and they disappeared on the way to my io account.

you didn't get anyhting back as of now. it's still in limbo on CL.

Exactly. It's not back until it's in your wallet.

Would you rather have 100% of the principal back or some pricipal+interest IOU TF may or may not honor, like the ripple "social experiment" he ran earlier this year ?

Thanks a lot for your replies.

I was asking because I noticed the mixing transactions following the 4200 BTC inputs.io theft - https://blockchain.info/en/tree/96033579 - had "Relayed by IP : Blockchain.info". It got my hopes up that those transactions were performed using Blockchain.info, which would leave an auditable trail behind (eg IP access logs, maybe a wallet id ?)

I understand it's a blatant violation of Blockchain.info's privacy policy for them to disclose that information, but should the law get involved, it would be useful in tracking what happened.

Tree chart of the lost funds ...

https://blockchain.info/es/tree/96033579

...

Yeah I was following those other addresses as well.

I dude that those address belongs to the hacker... (¿mixing btc?)

When looking at the transactions for the "mixing", I noticed the "Relayed by : Blockchain.info". So I wonder if the thief was dumb enough to use a wallet on blockchain.info, or use their (authenticated) API to broadcast them...
Of course it is in violation of the Blockchain.info privacy policy for them to disclose what they know about those addresses, or IP logs of associated API accesses, but if the law gets involved, I hope they will be able to cooperate.

It might have been answered before but I have a question about the "Relayed by IP" field.
I understand whatever ip address it shows has no meaning, but if it says "Relayed by IP : Blockchain.info", does it mean 100% sure that the transaction has been performed though blockchain.info's online wallet feature ?

Probably not.  It could also have been performed through their API.  There are websites (and probably wallets) that broadcast transactions by sending them through blockchain.info's API, I am 90% sure they also show up as relayed by blockchain.info.

Thanks.

I had a quick glance at their transaction API (https://blockchain.info/api/json_rpc_api) and it seems like you do need a wallet with them to broadcast transactions, even if only for authentication purposes ?
Or is there another API where someone can post raw signed transactions without authenticating first ?

Coinlenders;

What happened with previous big(ger) thefts ?
Inform all exchanges AND mining pools not to process certain addresses ?
BTC are lost, but the thieves can't use them either.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83794.0

And no the stolen coins cannot be recovered or blocked, although the addresses are now "tainted" so spending/selling those coins will be a bit dangerous, assuming the people accepting them actually care.

PM sent. Crossing fingers we'll get most of our coins back one way or another.

It would also be beneficial to do a headcount of who took loans from there, to get a better feeling of (amount of coins in TF's wallet (or stolen) / amount of money "in the wild").

The thing is, what happens to all the BTC currently loaned ? TF doesn't have them. Will they ever be repaid back or will everyone just default on their loans ? (Were there actually that many customers to sustain CL's high interest rates or was it just a ponzi from the start ?)

If people pay back their loans, then there is not so much to worry about - just that it will take time to get all your coins back (ie bank run).
If not, TF is insolvent.

TF, at least put up a big "CL will not accept new deposits and loan applications, please hold on while I sort this mess" sign on the front page like you did for inputs.io. Letting the site run like nothing happened is very misleading if not offensive.

Use the Zadig utility and newest cgminer.
Or, if you are lazy use these already signed drivers: http://d-h.st/5kc
