Re: Why bitcoin price drop so fast?

What is going very high very fast could also go down very fast, it is a law of nature...
More seriously, there is also a dip in stock exchanges currently, it could be related.

Re: Bitcoint to $1,800 USD by end of 2018

Nobody could really predict what will happen to the bitcoin price in the future. But in my opinion, bitcoin will slowly lose it's dominance over the other coins, because it's tech is outdated. The fees and confirmation times are not acceptable except for speculating peoples, there is no way it could be used for daily purposes. The "normal" people will slowly learn that fact, and will turn to other coins, better suited for real world use.
Also, the energy required for mining bitcoin is a strong concern, I don't think it is sustainable. In the long term, the world needs a more energy efficient crypto.
So, this is just my opinion, but if nothing is done, bitcoin could lose much of it's value in the future, and others coins would benefit of that.

Hi there !
Since the start of today's DeepPoint airdrop, I also have this :
Dp abusing / Your ban will be lifted on Dec 17, 2017

Now, it's only "You have been banned for the following reason: dp abusing"

I cannot log out from the forum, can't see threads, can't go to my profile, can't send a ticket, nothing.

I don't think I abused domination tasks : I only did something like 23 tasks in the whole week, I only had 0.04053 points (while domination heroes have more than 0.12), and tried to write unique, good and constructive posts, and I participated (ok, lightly) in the rest of the forums. I only had 2 of my whole tasks deleted, and never a light ban. Does not seem fair...

@crypto-rainbow could you please explain what is happening ? (I'm ColdFire on the DeepOnion forums)

Re: Do you believe the FBI holds the biggest number of bitcoin?

Things are getting worst than worse with government and bitcoins. If anything like that happens, we will again get stuck in the same place where we are right now. They will be controlling our money, we will have to pay taxes, everything will remain the same except the fact that then it will be just in digital form. Kill me before that day, please!
I was thinking like you until I realized there is one major difference : new Bitcoins can't be created from thin air as they do with regular currencies.
But yes, they will do their best to recreate the situation we are now.

Re: Bitcoin huge fees
by
xplorer79
on 29/08/2017, 19:11:44 UTC
sorry about my ignorance, but what would happens if the protocol itself would ask the miners to go for all the transactions no matter the fee size just following a timestamp that would determined that for certain transaction to be processed first all transactions that were made before must be confirmed?

I understand that there has to be a reward for mining in order to keep the thing going, but it seems that we are losing the main point here.
the value should have to be in the usage of the coin rather than being in the speculative store of value, and theres no value in an usage that its being controlled by someone that says if a transaction is important or not by a fee.
I imagine miners would create a new fork restoring the actual functioning, and all of them would move to the new fork, rendering the actual bitcoin unusable at all.
But I agree with you, something has to be done, the actual system is not fair, prevents low transactions and only do harm to the bitcoin.

Re: What are the chances of Russian government to find a way to control Bitcoin?
by

Russia has zero chance to control Bitcoin. They can try to control it in Russia, and Russians can use VPN.
They have a better chance to control alcohol, and that too they will fail in.
Didn't Russia ban usage of VPN a few weeks ago ?

Re: Satoshi Nakamoto caught by NSA?
by

on 29/08/2017, 14:22:40 UTC
Sounds interesting but still its hard to believe, and why would this agency will take so much effort just to identify satoshi his not even a criminal still this is another theory and not proven yet.

Since when NSA is seeking criminals only ? They monitor the world just because they can do it, and they try to identify / prosecute anyone they think is a harm to them, their agenda or whatever. So I think it is not that far fetched to imagine they really want to know who Satoshi is, because he has created something that could do harm to the global enslaving financial system.

Re: Do you believe the FBI holds the biggest number of bitcoin?

That’s strange, though if they hold it would probably be for some investigative purposes and not really for cashing except the government and the central bank know about it. But this is seeming ridiculous, maybe they use it to sponsor their spies on the darkweb

It's probably, only a rumor. FBI can't have that much bitcoins. But I'm sure they seized important amount of bitcoin after they arrested btce officials and took their machines including wallets.
Isn't that possible BTCe servers were encrypted (including wallets of course), and FBI seized no bitcoin at all, only hardware ?
If I was BTCe, I would have strongly encrypted the data for sure, just in case...

On the other hand, I'm fairly sure 3 letters agencies own many bitcoins/monero and use them to sponsor their shady activities, this just make sense.

Re: Is Switzerland a cryptocurrency heaven?
by
xplorer79
on 28/08/2017, 19:18:11 UTC
Switzerland is part of EU. EU is a bunch of naive men and women who think they can control the people.

So to answer your question, no switzerland is not a safe haven for crypto. I think you should look towards australia. They have an understanding about how things work, and they only control what makes sense to control.
No, Switzerland is not part of EU. Switzerland and EU only have the so called "bilateral agreements". These (recent, 2005) agreements are about many things (security, asylum, environment), but Swiss is absolutely not part of EU. In fact, swiss people are mainly against being part of EU. They want to remain independent and autonomous.

At the moment, Switzerland is doing many things towards the digital economy, like building huge server vaults under the mountains to keep google servers safe in case of a catastrophe. I heard some swiss banks are now moving towards cryptocurrencies. I'm almost sure some private banks specialized in crypto already exist there but I don't know much about that.
To me, it is very obvious Switzerland will be one of the first countries accepting cryptocurrencies at large scale. They lost too much with the recent banks scandals, they have to move on and moving to crypto is certainly where they could shine.

Disclaimer : I own both swiss and french nationalities and living on the border Smiley

Re: Uber finally getting close to accepting Bitcoin ?
by
xplorer79
on 28/08/2017, 17:46:06 UTC
Interesting...
But considering the high transaction fees and delays of bitcoin, how could it work ? Accepting Bitcoin on Expedia is one thing as you don't really need instant payments for booking a room and could easily include a 5$ transaction fee, but accepting it on Uber where you really need instant, very low payment, and then very low transaction fees is another thing...
Or perhaps I am missing something ?

[Hire Me] English-French translations, technical writings
by
xplorer79
on 28/08/2017, 14:36:47 UTC
Hi,

I'm proposing my services for English to French translations : websites, whitepapers, user manuals, etc...

I could also do technical writings (preferably in french, but could do english as well) for blogs, websites or whatever.

I'm an IT technician and embedded devices engineer, french mother language, and I have very good french writing.

You could check my posts on the blog I'm contributing (I'm cofounder) there :
Code:
http://hardware-libre.fr/author/stouf/

I don't propose a fixed price in bitcoin because it depends on the kind of job, difficulty etc. Feel free to write a message here or PM me to discuss about it.

Thanks for reading !
