can you confirm that primedice.co one of your urls?
Please do not use any such links to visit the website. Bookmark the link provided and use that only.

Since there are many registered domains of similar names, not every one of those are legit. Many are run by scammers to prey on users who make a common spelling mistake in the domain name and run a clone site used to steal their money. Some domains are just linking to a referral link often run by affiliate marketers.

To be safe, do not visit any such link. Use the one that is official. No need to even confirm whether those domains are real or not.

I obviously did not want to use it, I used it by mistake and caught that I was redirected. I was posting just because I was wondering if I narrowly avoided getting fished, or it is PD's way of redirecting.

@carsonjoey I would recommend you to install a antivirus software which can detect phishing links like these, and try and avoid being redirected to such spammy sites as they can download unnecessary software in your system which can then steal your information without you even realising it. Furthermore if team Primedice is aware of such fraudulent sites then they should immediately send them a DCMA notice, and send the same notice to their hosts because hosts will then have to deindex those spammy sites.

The site isn't necessarily a scam or phishing site. From what I can see, it just redirects to primedice.com with a specific referal code. Seems like someone just wants to make a buck on the fact that pd didn't register all relevant domain names.

I was told about primedice by a friend, tried to visit the page but accidentally typed primedice.co. It took me to the correct site (primedice.com), but with something that appears to be some kind of tracking code or referral. I didnt register and I cleaned my cookies, but the situation was still disturbing.

can you confirm that primedice.co one of your urls?
primedice.co is not available now. They might have multiple correspondence domain name and all may returns you to the main domain. So while you will visit primedice.co and it goes to https://primedice.com/?modal=welcome then there is nothing wrong. They are still same as they are forwarding you to https://primedice.com/
But if it didn't forward you to the main domain then it might be a problem. Still better use the main domain https://primedice.com/

I dunno, primedice.co works for me and it indeed serves a redirect to PD with a reflink. Sites should try to register at least the most basic typoed domains. If a nefarious actor gets a hold of this, there could be real potential for people to lose lots of money.

I dont see the provably fair algorithm anywhere, and when i try to verify the algorithm is also not displayed. You can hardly call this 'provably fair'

Hello, if you click the 3 bars in the upper right corner of the game, you will open up the provably fair menu. There you can set your player seed and view your server seed and hash.

There is also a verify button, which takes you to an independent 3rd party site where you can confirm your roll.

Thanks and best of luck to you!

Again, you do not show the algorithm with which you calculate results, so the game is unverifiable and therefore not provably fair.

How did an 'independent 3rd party site' know how to implement the PF without having access to the code? Very independent and third party indeed  Cheesy

Provably Fair Dice is Back in Beta - Feedback Requested for Prizes

https://www.betcoin.ag/provably-fair-dice-back-beta-feedback-requested-prizes

We will be selecting at least 5 of the best responses to receive real money bonuses of 5 mBTC, for your efforts.

Provably Fair Dice has been one of the most popular Betcoin games, since we first opened our virtual doors in 2013 and the reasons why are apparent. Dice is fast, fun and profitable. Because of this, many players were disappointed when the game was removed several months ago. What they may not have known, was that it simply went back to the lab for a much needed makeover. We invite you to test out the new, improved dice game and seek your feedback before the full version is released.

About Provably Fair Dice
The idea behind this exciting game is quite simple. Select whether a random spin will be higher or lower than a number of your choice. The number you choose will directly affect the odds and payout of the roll. How do you know this spin will be random? Because provably fair technology allows you to set your own player seed, and the results can be verified any time on independent third party sites. You can view the history of your player seed, server seed and server hash any time in the transactions tab, for verification. One of the most popular features of this game is Automatic Roll, where you can choose your settings and let the dice spin a number of times, pre-determined by you. You can also set the percentage to increase or decrease your bet after every won or lost spin, to utilize betting systems such as Martingale.

Earn Bitcoin for your Feedback
This latest version of Dice was largely based on player feedback from the previous version. We are once again seeking your opinions to help us improve. Please comment below with your thoughts on the new Provably Fair Dice. What do you like? What can be improved? What bugs do you find? We will be selecting at least 5 of the best responses to receive real money bonuses of 5 mBTC, for your efforts. Please test the game and let us know what you think. The game will be getting a massive front end makeover as well as custom selectable skins in the near future. Suggestions for feedback include game appearance, functionality, layout, mobile version, bugs and of course, the provably fair aspect. If you are a long-time member, compare it to the old dice. Don’t hold back and be as thorough as possible. We are looking for the good, the bad and the ugly, as your comments can only make us better. This contest is open through 16 June, 2020 at 1000 ET, at which time we will be paying out the winners. As always, we are here for you any time if you have any questions. Thanks and best of luck to all!

Jeez I really stepped into a shitstorm.

Dean, just some words of advice from an impartial observer: You claim that everything has been well documented and explained on the forums, yet after a cursory search I was only able to find more threads of you arguing with the usual suspects. I don't think writing a few concise paragraphs about how the hack happened, what the response was, why the missing funds are in excess of the bankroll, what tx id's were involved etc. is so much to ask. Once you have one solid post explaining what happened, you can always refer to it once these discussions break out again.

I feel you are doing yourself a disservice by posting the way you are, although I understand that you must be going trough a very stressful period in your life.

Dean, I am also having a hard time following this. If the hacker won the entire bankroll, why did you have problems paying out other players' balances which were NOT part of the bankroll and should have been held in excess of bankroll funds?

The site looks nice. I am only not sure what the purpose is of these kind of games. Not typically casino games. It makes it unique, but on the other hand also some confusing to users like me who do not understand anything about the rules/target in the game.

What are you talking about? It's a standard dice game.

What are you not sure about? Bitcoin mining uses sha256, the asic hardware performs these hash calculations. You could just tell it to perform it on arbitrary inputs. [...]

Luckily you can't repurpose SHA-256 ASIC miners like that:

See they [ASIC Miners] don't even do that. They don't complete the double sha and don't return the hash at the end, only nonces that meet targets. So they really are useless.
(Quoted from ckolivas, developer and maintainer of cgminer so that guy knows his stuff)

Yeah I thought something like that would be the case. Good to know, thanks.

Good question why YOLOdice are using SHA-256 over SHA-512 though.

Suppose it is just an oversight that has historically been there but no one had noticed till now.

Yep, I've enabled investing a few minutes ago.

Great to see this, wanted to invest in a solid dice site for some time now. Took a detailed look at you platform, everything seems solid.

One question, in the provably fair, you use the very secure HMAC-SHA512 to generate the rolls - this is the industry standard. However, the hash of the seed is displayed with SHA256. Would it not be more prudent to standardize the hash in all cases to the more secure SHA512 algorithm? Better safe than sorry...

Indeed that is peculiar. Especially given the fact that all bitcoin miners can be re-purposed to try and brute-force sha256 hashes, I would expect it to be used less. Seems like a potential weak point of the provably fair algo.

Not sure about this, but it is reasonable to expect the hash of the seed to need to be more secure than the hash that generates the result. If anything, the HMAC-SHA512 for generating the result is overkill, compared to the SHA256 that is used to hash the server seed and is displayed to the user. The hash displayed to the user should considered to be more vulnerable and exposed to possible brute force, as you've mentioned.

@OP: Is there an actual technical reason for using the less secure SHA256 for the server seed, or would it be possible to standardize it to SHA512?

Once you have the sufficient amount , you may cash out.

In an age of casinos with instant withdrawals, does it really make sense to play in a casino with this kind of attitude to someone that wanted to give them an honest try? Again, this is my deposit and my winning, i did not get any promotion/bonus. They are keeping my money and there is nothing I can do about it.

Damn, that is some really shitty behaviour on the site's part. If that conversation is real, I would definitely blacklist this site. I've had the chance to interact with many support agents of gambling sites listed here, and none of them was as dismissive and arrogant as this guy is. What a shame.
