i call them the "twins" almost finished while waiting for cpu to arrive. was testing if everything holds up & yes it does, no scrws were used on the risers & no cable ties were used for any of the cables.

finally parts arrived, completed & tested they run nice, delivered to customer, added voltmeter to them as a little appreciation due to slight delay of cpu.

side by side, almost 100% identical.

*p.s: this is NOT an ad as per some fellow members claims it to be an ad without any evidence showing that it is & was claimed that i was spamming my ads across forums & threads*

this is just to share my builds.

Anyone use duct hose to expel the heat from multiple S1-S2-S4-S5-S7 miners out a window?
Looking for pictures/ideas. I know there must be someone that has done it.

suck better than blow ?

Actually thinking about the same thing and will be heading to lowes tomorrow afternoon. I'll post an update when I get started.

This is what I'm thinking. Lining up all the Sx's in a row, side by side and just cut a hole in the side of the duct host and put the miner output right in there. With a push from a small fan it should direct all the air flow right out or where I want it. Sorry for the terrible representation. Basically just need one long hose and some cheap thermal tape to close the gaps. Don't really care what it looks like.

Today we had our scheduled 3 month cleaning activity. Since we recently installed a high power pump on our cooling system, we decided to clean our dirty girls with horse-grade shampoo and industrial compressed air (life on the farm is very dirty).

WARNING: DO NOT TRY THIS AT YOUR FARM!

Before:

After:

Lots of bubbles:

More pics at https://www.facebook.com/StartHash (Like!, Share!, Mine!)
Wow, this difference between before and after is huge, good job, they look brand new again!

I use a bottle of everclear. Works wonders!

may i know how you clean the miners ?

use compressed air to blow the dust then spray the electrical cleaner into it n blow again ?

i have some really dusty miners !!!

thx for sharing & nice setup.

hi all newbie here, just managed to finally setup my rigs. more to come. pics are from the start till now. more upgrades will come along the way.

just reached home with nice shiny boxes

unboxed !

1st setup on my main PC on Asus RIVE mobo while waiting for risers to arrive

all wired up, ready to fire it up

whoalla ! it works but too hot ! so brought some backup

Getting ready to build full time rig

fulltime rig fired up & running, just sitting on the table whilst thinking of a rig design for it

ah ha, found a IKEA shoe rack plastic box & it may workout

all 4 R9 290's fits nicely including mobo + PSU

another messy & busy day. Finally the powered risers have arrived !

2nd PSU to power the fulltime rig for future expansion, testing on the ground

it works now up on the table, all 7 cards working

power consumption for 3 R9 290's from Corsair Link software

Finally, more upgrade, found a home for full time rig

another angle, was really happy with the 48 bux i spent ! no cutting, drilling or whatsoever, everything sits nicely on the metal rack including the PSU's

4 wasn't enough as the mobo supports 5 cards ! took me couple of days figuring out on how to get 5 GPU's to be recognized in WIN 7, now it can support up to 8 GPU's under WIN 7

5 cards settled, running smoothly. will be cleaning up the wiring. had some delays due to AC plugs burning out on a single surge protector. rewired & now each PSU are pulling power from separate surge protectors but from same wall outlet. better not start a fire ! more wiring upgrades coming.

more upgrades are coming along the way when i have enough time. below are the list of my rigs :

- MOBO Asus RIVE
- PSU Cooler Master 850W Gold (will upgrade if needed) this PSU have not given me any problem, been using it for 5 years
- 16 gigs of  Corsair ram @ 2400 mhz
- CPU i7 3930K 6 Core LGA 2011 Clock @ 4.5ghz
- GPU Asus DCII GTX 680 : Clock @ 1345 mhz Memory clock @ 1598 getting an avg hashrate of 244 khash/s (collecting dust now, may sell it online)
- Case Cooler Master Cosmos
- Soundcard ROG Asus Xonar Phoebus
- 7 x Sapphire R9 290 cards
- MSI FM2 AXA G65 Mobo
- AMD A4 CPU
- Kingston 8 GB value ram (did not work, could not boot up even into BIOS will be changing to a better RAM)
- Thermaltake 3.0 Extreme CPU liquid cooler (more cooling for my main rig & space to fit gfx cards)
- 2 x AX1200i Digital ATX Power Supply — 1200 Watt 80 PLUS® Platinum Certified Fully-Modular PSU
- 20 x PCI-e express 1X to 1X/16x Riser Extender Card with extra power (on it's way now)
extra SATA power supply for PCI-e video card.
  USB 3.0 Cable Length:30cms

hashing away now headless on full time rig

well explained OP, i know what both means but :

ROI sounds much nicer than CR Wink

someone did mention that most of us knows when a miner/investor in the crypto world mention the magical 3 letter ROI.

to answer OP's topic, yes, it wont even boot.

best is to test each gpu 1 by 1 & see if it would boot win then only proceed to other diagnostics.

hey OP thx for your hardwork, i'm testing hasher & liking it so far, let me play around with it, i will gladly donate.

a little more info on the interface will be nice, bigger fonts too, maybe allow resizing ?

have no idea what it is doing during benchmarking but it's ok for me

i'd like the option of adding api-bind option so i can monitor the miners

how about miner name ? btcadd followed by "." ?

liking it so far, will test it out n see how it goes.

any chance to use my own preferred/custom miners ?

will report back & looking fwd for further improvements.

u sell it to a willing buyer, he/she/they own it & it belongs to them & the owners have the right to sell/share/keep or do anything with it.

why are you saying that people who PAID you for your work & they own it & they are NOT allowed to share it or distribute them as per GNU ?

But you are allowed to sell them freely on the other hand ? imo, i don't think your work is being stolen at all.

confused . . .
