WOOF COIN

Since the beginning of the pandemic, pet surrendering rates have increased dramatically around the world. Waitlists for surrendering household pets have increased to a remarkable eight months as animal shelters and welfare organisations have seen an increase of 34% for animals needing help.

Typically, animal shelters are under resourced and under financed; relying heavily on donations and the volunteer efforts to assist animals.

This is where Woof Coin steps in. As avid lovers of dogs, we wanted to make a difference. Using the power of Proof of Work mining, we’ve created a coin where miners are contributing to the donation of money to animal welfare shelters. These shelters initially include the ASPCA who already have a cryptocurrency donation mechanism but with intention to expand to the RSPCA and other organizations suggested by the community.

Our aim is to put animals first and we intend on developing ongoing relationships with pet shelters to help adoption.

Answering my own question above:

I am using Windows 10 on a machine with just 4GB RAM. Pagefile was set to 15GB which was enough for 2 GPUs, but not for 3. Setting it to 48GB fixed the issue.
As for the invalid shares, I don't know what originally caused them, as I have reinstalled Windows.

My rig (2x1070) was working fine, I unplugged it to move it to a different place, plugged it in, and every share is getting rejected now.

Maybe it's because I installed Windows updates before switching it off...

In any case, I tried installing the newest driver, the 460.17 + nvml.dll fix, adding and removing a 3060ti, clean installing a driver every time I add or remove a 3060ti, switching between 5.5b and 5.5c, switching between SSL and Stratum protocols... No matter what I do, result is the same: every share is rejected.

Here's the command I use to start my miner:
Code:
C:\Users\Admin\Downloads\PhoenixMiner_5.5c\PhoenixMiner.exe -nvidia -pool ssl://eu1.ethermine.org:5555 -pool2 ssl://us1.ethermine.org:5555 -wal 0xXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.GreenRig -coin etc

Did anyone have the same issue? I'm starting to bash my head against the wall guys, as nothing I do has any effect on the miner.

are you trying to mine etc? eth classic ?  thats what you have in your start file

Well at least that worked.
Now I accidentally compromised the system and reinstalled windows right now. Everything afresh, latest Nvidia WHQL driver, 5.5c.

Getting this now:
Code:
Fatal error detected. Restarting.
GPU3 initMiner error: Unable to initialize CUDA miner
GPU2 initMiner error: Unable to initialize CUDA miner

I'm bashing my head against the wall, guys. Like what am I doing wrong?
The miner just won't start, instead, that's what I'm getting:

Code:

I'm just 0.01 away from the payment threshold so Imma stick to them at least till I get my payout, then I maybe switch off. Or maybe I don't if they don't keep doing the shit they did throughout the last past week

Check the riser and 6-8 pin gpu connector.
Try to run that MSI card at stock settings for a while. Are the temperatures ok? Maybe it's overheating..
But in Ethereum it works all good. May try to switch though if nothing else works, thanks!
Temp is hardly over 65.

ZCash low hashrate only on Samsung memory
by

on 12/03/2018, 09:16:14 UTC
Hi, everyone!

Got 3 GTX 1060 3GB, mining ZCash.
2 of them are Asus Dual with Hynix memory, and they are stable at 285-300 sol/s.
The last one is MSI Dual, with Samsung memory. In the 1st run it would give 250 sol/s. Then some hours later the EWBF miner stopped responding and after the reboot it was only 170 sol/s. After 1 more reboot it's just 80 sol/s. However, it is still giving out ~22–22.5 MH/s on Ethereum with +0/+500, just like it used to before I tried mining ZEC.

For ZEC, all cards are clocked to have core running at 2050-2100 and memory running at 4100. That means core +170 for Asus, +220 for MSI; memclock + 300 for all cards. Running on 372.54 driver as it was the most stable with Claymore.

What's happening? Why is it dropping severely every time? Any suggestions how to fix the MSI card w/ Samsung memory and get it to dig ZEC just as good as the others do? Any hope that is possible at all?

Hello, Im asking for help cause dont know what to look for..

Im using Nvidia in Windows 7 64-bits but the claymore keeps saying 'no card found' and exits

What it has to be done?

For me lowering drivers to 374.whatever helped. On 388th driver it won't recognize my GPU.

I'm gonna try Kubuntu 17.10 now though. Will check back tomorrow to tell if everything's OK with drivers, or do I suffer a PITA trying to get them to work simultaneously.
Predictably, the latter happened. Drivers are a real PITA. Probably could figure something out if had like extra day or so, but I don't. Will try Linux again in a month or two when I'll have time to fight the shitload of problems again

Windows 10 is the choice. But its still not good. After every windows update you will run into some new stupid complication. If i were you i'd try to split up the cards on two rigs, keeping each rig either Nvidia or AMD. Your downtime with stupid problems would be cut in half. If not more.

After that I'm definitely switching off to Linux. The downside is that it requires an extra mobo and everything, which I won't be able to afford for like the next month or two. Already spent the free and unused money, need time to earn more of that.

Well, that's a first. Good to know. Before on Linux you had to setup a KVM with PCI-E passthough to isolate the drivers.
I'm gonna try Kubuntu 17.10 now though. Will check back tomorrow to tell if everything's OK with drivers, or do I suffer a PITA trying to get them to work simultaneously.

1000$  is not worth to start any mining for having worth income
I believe a month after consumer Volta-based GPUs hit the market it will be possible to build at least a 3x1060 rig for a $1000. And that's something to at least practice with so if you decide to invest heavier later on, you won't waste time on learning everything.

Are the same two GPUs always lazy, or different ones every time?

In 1st case, how do they behave if you unplug the rest of GPUs and only leave these 2 to work? If they work like they should, your PSU is too weak. If they don't, plug them in somebody else's farm. Still no luck? It's a GPU issue, sell them to gamers and indicate the reason of sale to be their poor mining performance — that way you can be sure you're not selling to another miner. Gamers won't notice a thing unless they try to mine themselves.

In the 2nd case, your PSU is almost 100% sure the reason. Mobo and CPU drain about 150W, you only got 580W for 8 GPUs, that's just 72.5W per each, and they normally consume 80-90W each. Get a 2nd PSU, even a weak one, and use an Add2PSU circuit board to hook them up. Power 2 or 3 GPU with it (experiment here) and you should be good.

What's the best OS for a mixed rig: half Nvidia, half AMD? Why?
by
yungplayz
on 17/02/2018, 22:42:53 UTC
Hi folks!

Just finished building my first mixed rig: 4 Nvidia GPU, 4 AMD. Now it's time to install OS to it and I can't chose one.
Tried to search for "mixed rig os" here, found 0 relevant threads.
So, which one do you prefer and why?

Please don't suggest ethOS, I don't wanna buy before I try. I also prefer to have everything running locally without needing web to access it, so HiveOS isn't an option too. I liked SmOS very much, but setting it to work with a mixed rig is a real PITA, as it's designed for the rigs with GPUs of only one vendor.

So if you know a specialized distro that'll do its job like it should with a mixed rig, I'll be really grateful for a suggestion.
Also if you think generic Linux distro or Win7/10 are the best options in this case, please at least vote, but I'd be grateful for the explanation of pros and cons.

Closed source miners are compiled for Ubuntu so even trying to run them with Debian will result in missing or incompatible libraries.

Thank you very much. Already downloading the latest Kubuntu (I prefer KDE over Gnome, and it makes completely no sense to me for a miner to have dependencies with the DE).

What's the best NON-MINING-SPECIALIZED Linux distro for mining?
by
yungplayz
on 14/02/2018, 19:24:15 UTC
Hi folks!

There are a lot of threads regarding ethOS, SMOS, HiveOS and other specialized mining-oriented distros. So many of them that I couldn't find any non-outdated info about the subj, so gotta ask, maybe somebody knows.

I intend to use my rig for some other server activities alongside mining, and that's why the mining-oriented distros are a bad option for me. I personally prefer Fedora over everything, but I'm afraid it's gon miss many mining-specific tools.
Debian, Ubuntu and its spins, OpenSUSE, Arch and so on will all do as well. But I would really prefer a distro that does have a big community.

This is my first rig, but I got a lot of Linux experience. So all I need is the tools and solutions for my future issues to be there, to actually exist. I'm not scared of long nights of googling for them if needed.

Anybody got suggestions?

P.S.: Or am I missing something and there are more benefits to specialized distros than just having everything ready-baked and minimizing time needed to set everything up? If so, what are those other benefits?

add2psu is for pussies. true man use paperclip.
I prefer copying the state, not just setting it to "always on"  Grin

You absolutely 100% have to use the PCIE 6+2 to power the cards, that's where they get their power from, they won't run without it.
...
I hope this helps.

Yes, it does help! Thank you very much! You did understand what I'm asking.

BUT! While my AMD GPU's have 8-pin slots on the top, the Nvidia ones only got 6-pin slots. That's what I'll have to connect apparently. Just noticed that.
I think I'll just hook them up via 6+2 using only 6 pins, feed the riser via Molex and check if the cords get hot. If any problem occurs that'll be a reason to create another thread (after prior research)

yes it may not directly explained, but you can also see the molex wattage so with it in riser that has 75watts via molex

Apparently you did not understand my question.

I mean, my GPU consumes 120W on its peak consumption. Therefore, I need to power everything up in such a manner that at least 120W can be safely supplied to it.
Let's say, I supplied 75W to the riser via Molex.
How much do I STILL need to supply to the GPU directly? Is another 75W enough (so the total supply of the riser via Molex and of the GPU via 6-pin is 150W — which is more than its peak consumption)? Or do I need to supply at least 120W directly to the GPU alone and the riser's supply doesn't count?

In other words, is the supply directly from the PSU to the GPU the only one that counts, or does the mediated supply from the PSU to the riser to the GPU count as well and it's the total supply that matters?
