Yes, it can be somewhat resource intensive. When did you play?

Selling Wurm Online silver (currency).

Hello, everyone!

I am looking to start selling in-game currency on Wurm Online http://www.wurmonline.com/.

Wurm Online is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Play Game (MMORPG) with sandbox mechanics. You can construct cities, level mountains, raise islands, build ships to sail the seas, craft armor and weapons, battle monsters, and much more.

What I am selling:

I am selling Wurm Online ingame currency (silver and gold coins) for bitcoins.

Q. Will I get banned from the game for buying currency?
A. No. Wurm Online has no problem with people trading in-game currency for dollars, euros, or even bitcoins. In fact, they sell in-game currency for euros on their own site and people use their official forums (Which are offline at the moment, as they are doing some major website revisions).

Q. If the makers of the game sell in-game currency why should I buy from you?
A. Two reasons: First, they only accept paypal. So, if you can't, or don't want to, use paypal you are out of luck with them. Second, I am selling in-game currency for less!

Q. How much less?
A. The official Wurm Online shop asks 1 euro (.25 bitcoins according to current exchange rates) per silver, while I ask only .2 bitcoins per silver. This is a savings of 20%!

Q. What can I do with in-game silver and gold coins?
A. You can trade with players, by from merchants and traders, and even pay for premium game time (Allowing you to access features that F2P players can not).

Q. Are there more than one server on Wurm Online? And if so, what server(s) do you sell on?
A. Yes, there are more than one server. As of right now, I can only offer in-game currency on the Freedom (PVE) server group (that is where I play).

Q. How can I contact you?
A. You can reach me on these forums, gtalk/jabber/xmpp at root[at]technolibre.net, by email at root[at]technolibre.net, or in game under the username "xzovy".

Q. Do you have a bitcoin-otc account?
A. I am rather new to bitcoin-otc, but I do have an account. http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=yurumtin

Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon!

Re: P2P Email

I must disagree, theymos. A P2P system does not have servers. Instead it has a network of nodes that each as as important as any other node. A email server interacts with clients by hosting and/or routing all of the mail for the clients. In order for email to be p2p there would need to be no servers, only a network in which every node hosted a share of the required workload and a share of the disk space. The benefits of this system is that if a single node went down the network could have enough redundancy for there to be no issue. In a server based system like current email if the server goes down then there is no way for the network to function. Of course, storage of messages would need to be encrypted like any P2P storage network.

Thank you, Nefario. I will look into that i2p email program. Perhaps it will be what I am looking for.

P2P Email

I was wondering if there was an P2P Email technology? If so, could you suggest it (or one of them) to me for investigation. If not, is there a reason why this can't work? Or, is there a reason that one would not want to use such a technology?

What would be the point of having in-game money? From my experience it doesn't add anything to the game. However, I would be willing to donate bitcoin to fund the server. As long as it was 100% optional.

Personally I enjoy the classic Minecraft, no mods or free server hand outs. I think it would be great if we had a BitCoin Forums Minecraft server. It's less of a headache to run without mods, so might be easier on you. I have run minecraft servers before and I'd be happy to help in any way I can. Planning on running it on your Desktop or having a dedicated server for it?

The problem probably has to do with the difference between a PCIe x16 and a PCIe x8. Both of our MBs have a single x16 and a single x8 slot. Apparently ATI 58xx and higher cards require x16. Without this no card in the system work. So, because you have a 5970 in the second, PCIe x8, slot your system will not function.

Very disappointing.  Sad

Wanted to let you know what the problem was. Turns out my motherboard, http://usa.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=szSFtrap7crpBaQE, only supports either SLI or a single card. The second slot is not powerful enough to run a card on it's own. Go figure. Thanks to those who helped.

When I started generating bitcoins using my GPus I had two Nvidia 8800 GTS cards. So pleased with bitcoin I decided to upgrade and changed to an ATI 5770 card. I had to remove both of my nvidia cards to do this because when one of them was in it wouldn't allow me to generate with my new ATI card. No big deal, this new card was 10x as powerful as one of those cards. But now I have become so excited about bitcoin I decided to buy another ATI card to go with my new 5770. This time I got a 5870. But, when I get them both set up neither works. The 5870 doesn't seem to work on it's own either. I am trying to figure out why. Below I will list my relevant hardware to help you.

600W PSU with enough 6 pin jacks for both cards.
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard
ATI 5770 card
ATI 5870 card.

Any advice would me much appreciated!
What gpu miner are you using? Have you tried starting the miner on one card, unplugging the monitor, waiting a second, and then plugging it into the other gpu and then starting another miner for that gpu? That trick works with my 5970 + 5770 rig.
Sorry,I didn't make this clear. When the other card is in the second slow neither card work at all. The screen isn't coming on.

However, I just tried the 5870 card in the first slot, the one I was using for the 5770.Works. So, turns out either my second slot is the problem (Which I doubt because both of my nvidia cards worked flawlessly together). I think this may have something to do with either A. Not enough power from my PSU. B. My motherboard is trying to do SLI without telling me. This second option is possible because SLI is in the name of the board and because the two cards are not the same. I know for SLI you need two cards that are exactly the same.

Any thoughts?

Standard sounding things, fans turn on, lights start, hard drive spins, but nothing shows up on the screen. The screen tells me there is nothing connected to it. The 5770 works fine on this monitor when the 5870 isn't inside the computer.

Hope that information helps.
