Re: Dwarven Bitmine - Earn some satoshis with that game

I tried it and there is no way I am returning.

I found that running your "mine" requires looking at ads that are so obtrusive they hit you with popups - and of the insidious type that like to claim your computer is infected (one claimed it was from Microsoft and that you needed to call them to clear the problem).  Besides the lack of ethics of the blatant lying, it basically crashed my chrome tabs by locking up my browser with a popup within the popup that could not be escaped.   Forget it.  Not worth it, not ever.   Angry

At least the old MBM, while it had ads, didn't have anything nearly as obtrusive.  Good luck to anyone who wishes to keep playing it, but I thought it worthwhile to put out this message to A) warn others considering trying it - in its current state, and B) give feedback to the creator of the site regarding the fact that this kind of ad-support makes the game unusable - at least to me (I'm sure several people would agree).

So by "dead" do we mean no longer paying out BTC?  The game itself seems to run fine, so it makes me wonder where all the ad money is going then.

The game has now been put on "badbitcoin.org" (not by me), so I suspect it is no longer paying or responding to messages.

Is the site still for sale?  MyBitmine hasn't logged in since the 12th and hasn't commented on this since announcing there are 6 days left.  By my guess, today is the last day to bid.

How much time is spent just maintaining the current site?  Not counting questions about its planned sale, and ignoring the effort being put into 2.0, what is the day to day operations effort?  Things like answering emails or other manual tasks?

Agreed [Knowhow], and while on that topic seller, please share the trends.  IE Quarterly financials for 4 quarters, and/or a few years worth of annual data.

Besides the fact that this is the most basic information about a potential investment to analyze it, it addresses a concern when reviewing this particular business.

The concern has already been expressed here.  In this site, expenses (especially to top users, or users becoming top users) are likely to continually increase as the bonuses of each account steadily rise.  If you don't get more new users on a regular basis (which you pay 0 or little to as they build up their game), the balance tips and the game loses money.

You can make changes to become more profitable, but at the risk of angering and alienating your users, and thus your income stream and trust in the community.

Related, you probably should publish statistics on new returning user growth or perhaps number of page views by users that are less than X months old (3 months might make a good dividing line?  seems to take several months to build up to anything even remotely worthwhile to pay-out).

The video states 1.5 BTC per day (~$300-400/day) comes in, but the subject here states $300-400 per month.

Is the site paying out 96% of its profits or is there something else going on here?

Can you post some financial data like gross monthly (BTC), expenses, net income, etc?

Is there a link to the auction site so you can watch and/or bid?
