Everyone bitches that Gox is the worst stain upon Bitcoin history, but forget that everyone loved Gox when they proclaimed the price to be an ATH of 1200.
But then they found they had no way of withdrawing any of that cash and that inaccessible cash is rather useless.
A flagship she may be, but unfortunately her crew are barely fit to pilot a rubber dinghy.
I Wish GOX would Hurry up and die already. As long as the biggest BTC Exchange is run by incompetent idiots (i'm referring to Gox's activities in general, not specifically this latest debacle), this kinda thing is going to keep happening.

This would need $282 rise every day between now and march first.
I hope so. There's so many better exchanges out there that have suffered because people are attracted to MtGox because of it's high volume of users. MTGox's screw ups have definitely hindered the progress of bit-coin.
That said the fact that people had to wait almost indefinitely to withdraw USD from MTGox failed to kill it, so who knows.
Gox do not have the realcoins and realcash to match everyone's goxcoins and goxcash.
Who does the trading fees go to?
Seriously though if GOX died off it would be a good thing. They're a terrible exchange with terrible service and terrible support. I had to wait 5 months to withdraw $1000 from my gox account. I never received the money, i just gave up waiting after 5 months, cancelled the withdrawal and moved to bitfinex.
Move away and support smaller upcommers. With trading on gox you make it harder for new exchanges to get established. Support the newcomers.
Great point - there are good exchanges out there, like Bitstamp and Kraken
I've always found Bitfinex incredibly good, more features and better support than MTGox.
The issue i had with MTGox was that it took forever to withdraw money from them. I gave up waiting after 5 months, after all $1200 now is much more useful than $1500 that never arrives.

One was expecting something a little more formal than this.
