Even professional HYIPers (those who make money by bailing out of ponzi schemes in time) are blogging about it. That should be another warning sign. For example:

That's a damn nice wallet !!!! what is your cpu to reach such high hashrate ?

Sorry, it's only a concept. Those numbers are made up. The highest hash rate I get currently is around 810khs with my i7 4770k 4.2ghz. =)

use the uncle-bob miner.... im doing more KHs on an twi years old i7 2600k running at only ~3800MHz ! => https://github.com/uncle-bob/quarkcoin-cpuminer

There's a win64 executable version?

The fastest win64 executable I've found is the one linked here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=392804.msg4324059#msg4324059

With that I'm getting 640kh/s on my i5 @ 3,4GHz. Since the i5 only has 4 threads it means I'd get twice that if I had an i7 with 8 threads...

the "Detection ratio:    29 / 49" didnt shock you?

anyway im having no luck with compiling the uncle bob source as is. gotta check tommorow...

Well, the pooler cpuminer also gets 29 hits. Since source from cpuminer has been incorporated in trojans you always get these hits I'm afraid.

That said, you have a point about not trusting executables without source. I'm switching back to the one linked to in the first post. At least for a while... I still get 630+ from that one anyway.

Just a few minutes ago I calculated when all coins will have been mined. It will be end of February. What then? With no miners all particles will be stuck in our wallets awaiting confirmations that will never happen?

And just how did come to that conclusion...?

Mathematics. All the necessary input is in the first post of this thread. Due to large blocks and short block time soon all blocks will have been mined.

Who wouldn't...? Actually, I'll double that and offer 100 YUM for 9000 BTC. Now, that's a good deal if I ever saw one!

The pool is working, just that the front-end is down so you can't register and set up workers. You can still solo-mine though (it started to get slow, so I had switched to another coin, but before writing this post I switched back to LPC and found a block in 30s, nice).

I solo-mined with 730 kh/s throughout the night and found 13 blocks + 4 orphans. It seems the net hashrate is going up though, since it was more than an hour each between the last four blocks I got.

No, it's quite new, so there's no exchange where you can trade Particles yet.

Do I need another minerd? I'm testing it on my own comp, and my minerd - ver. 2.3.2 - doesn't recognise the parameter -a quark in the command like this:
./minerd -a quark -o http://prt.mine-pool.net:9472 -O address:pass

Newer versions of the original Minerd no longer support quark. There are some optimised  "forked" versions of Minerd depending on what system you have. Which are still developed which still support Quark;

This is what I'm currently using; http://sourceforge.net/projects/philosopherstone/files/QRK/

+1

I'm using the i3i5i7_Improved version since I have an i5-3570K and I get 640kh/s (stock clock freq) when mining Particle. Yields me around 20k Particles per day.

I'm currently mining Particle. It's quite new, so there's no exchange rate you can use to calculate profitability. On the other hand it might turn out profitable to mine early and hold on to the coins for a while, that's what I'm trying my luck on! Wink

I bought my first bitcoins in November and then got into altcoins. I've been mining altcoins for ten days or so by now and this forum has been very useful. Looking forward to a great crypto-2014!

Happy New Year everyone! Smiley
