Re: 5 Ways to Avoid Bitcoin Scams
by

on 06/09/2018, 00:19:01 UTC
As interest in digital currencies increases such as Bitcoin, more and more Bitcoin scams promise high returns. Unrealistic lure is clearly a mere cover, and usually ends with the loss of clients' funds. Fraud often spreads in social circles based on trusted relationships. Therefore, we must be aware that there are cunning fraudsters who can actively seek ways to deceive with absurd tricks and offers.

How to avoid bitcoin scams :

1. Know What You Are Facing

You don't need to rush to decide whether an investment product is a scam or not. All you need to do is, take a moment to find complete information about the project. The easiest way to do this is to find information in the form of company details or Whitepaper (if ICO), and other things related to the investment product. Learn all the details carefully and do some research on testimonials, comments, and so on. Another way is to join a Bitcoin forum like Bitcointalk, and immediately ask for credibility of an investment product or company to other members.

2. Avoid Unrealistic Offerings

Usually, crypto currency fraud can disguise its identity by using a social media account or advertising banner that looks professional. Mark Steward, director of FCA law enforcement, explained that when people become more skeptical of the real world regarding investment and consumer habits have changed, investment fraud has moved into the realm of Online and social media.

How to avoid this Bitcoin Scam is, you are better selective about all investment offerings from the Online platform that you did not ask for, whether through social media, email, or even by telephone. Even if it looks official, pay attention to how it is offered. Con artists usually dare to promise high profits to lure victims. So if you feel the promise of profits is unrealistic, immediately ignore the proposed offer.

3. Beware of Phising Web Pages

Increased interest in crypto currencies makes many new investors enter the market. Lots of land in a fake landing page that claims to be a popular digital currency exchange platform. One example is the one that uses the Punycode technique. Through this method, the fake domain 'xn - inance-hrb [dot] com' can be displayed as 'ƅinance [dot] com'. This technique is usually able to deceive consumers, because web pages can look really like the original. You can overcome this by being aware of vulnerabilities that exist in internet browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, and Opera,

4. Beware of Fake Digital Wallets

Fake virtual wallets often appear online or at the mobile app store. In the example of a fake Wallet fraud that happened, more than $ 3.3 million was stolen from users who want to claim their Bitcoin Gold. To anticipate similar events, many Bitcoin Wallet providers caution clients to be aware of the cloning of scammers who want to steal victim funds by imitating their appearance.

MyEtherWallet for example, warns customers about fake MyEtherWallet in December. In addition, before choosing a digital wallet provider, do research first. Please share opinions on leading crypto forums, both local and foreign. In essence, only use the Wallet provider with a good track record.

5. Beware of Bitcoin Thief Malware

Malware is something that concerns computer owners. But now, a new category of malware capable of stealing Bitcoin-related data has appeared. Malware authorized by the computer owner is able to record typing or search for a file with the keyword "Account", "Password", "Bitcoin", "Wallet", or other keywords specified by the author, then upload the file to an anonymous server automatically.

In addition, there is also a malware that seeks to absorb the computing power of computer users to mine crypto. Anticipating this, YouTube is trying to deactivate ads that take computing power to mine crypto currencies. It is believed, after users see the related ad videos, the computer becomes slow and there will be warnings from anti-virus programs. Malware like this can steal up to 100% of computing power to mine crypto currencies (generally Monero). The solution that can be applied here is to install strong anti-virus protection and active Firewall to protect the computer.
This thread is very useful and knowledgeable for those new users for them to avoid from being scammed. Those ways that has been listed here really legit at can help other people in understanding the true security that they need.

Change is inevitable. After you dropped down, you'll rise again as if nothing happened. Same as what bitcoin is right now, the value of bitcoin is indeed unpredictable when it regards to its range value. It's also related to the number of investors that invest on bitcoin.

Bitcoin was dropping its value this year, we all know that everything's in a span of a wheel wherein sometimes you're low and sometimes you're on the top, same as what's life. But we all know that bitcoin is now gaining much popularity, maybe in the next span of time Bitcoin will increase again  it's value.

I thought about the unpredictability of bitcoin and its current status and it made me realized that this might drive people away from getting into cryptocurrency. What do you think are the other reasons that will keep people from using bitcoin?
They keep using and holding bitcoin because just like me, I'm still hoping that its price will improve and recover from it's condition right now. Even though most of the users are looking now for alternative coins they are still people who are patiently waiting on bitcoin raising and I hope it will be happen sooner or later, just don't lose.

Re: Who will benefit the most from bitcoin/cryptocurrency?

I have a friend who is interested in getting into bitcoins but he does not have a lot of savings or any major investments. He also has a lot of debts to pay and has an average wage job with a family of 4 to raise. When we were talking yesterday, I thought: who really would benefit the most from investing in bitcoin or cryptocurrency? Can those who are like my friend get into bitcoin even though he has no major investment? Or is bitcoin only for those who can afford it?
Bitcoin will be more beneficial for those people who used it, and trust  it especially for those who started their own business by the help of bitcoin. Also if other countries implement it as the new part of education those future generation will be more aware and luvky because they have this kind of education.

It is good that if people have a knowledge about cryptocurrency they will be more open minded when it comes to bitcoin and other cryptos also they will be more aware and they will realized that not all the judgements and first impression about cryptocurrency are true. Also it will be more benefitable for those younger generation.

Well bitcoin is useless for those people who don't believe and have it. For me bitcoin really helps people's lives especially for those who make it as their job and those who wants an extra income. So it's not good to judge it easily.

What is our assurance that Bitcoin will stay for long or forever?  There is a prophesy I have heard that Bitcoin will fall.
Can you share some strong reasons of why Bitcoin will last?
I think no one really knows what will happen in bitcoin after a long years because I guess through new inventions, innovations and improvements, bitcoin will change for the better especially it's price that really important to people who are using it. Nothing is permanent in this world so we need to accept what is changing.

No it's not, everyday is another day so we should grad any chance and opportunities that is available and open before it lasts. In bitcoin all you need is courage and braveness to face every challenge that we might encounter. For those people who wants to invest, be wise and responsible for you to have a higher profit and to be aware on the bad people who wants to do bad things onto you.

For me, bitcoin is the new way of earning money by the use of investing, trading and sometimes mining. As what I observed this is the way to have decentralization and i think sooner or later bitcoin become a new payment tool in some countries that accepts bitcoin and also the next generation will really benefits this in some point because it maube replacing cash to bitcoin that has some good effects for use.

Re: How safe is Bitcoin? ✅

on 09/08/2018, 00:53:24 UTC
Bitcoin is safe but it is more safe if you will secured it personally and the informayions you have will kept secretly or privately so no one else can steal it into you . In every transaction you should be wise and responsible because it can be done anywhere without personal information and because of that there's a possibility on hacking your account or your wallet.

I was following a thread and was amused by some of the answers. I'm interested to see how much people know.
I think no one will know that you have your own bitcoin unless you will share it to them, what I mean is that you tell them about it. Also if you secured it and place it in a cold storage well expect that no one will know it. Just be wise and responsible on bitcoin you have.

For me, I think it's because not all people haven't known it and they easily judge it without understanding what is bitcoin really is. Also the government has a big impact why bitcoin isn't a legit currency, why? because government people think that bitcoin is a threat for them especially the fact that government regulates most of the countries.

Re: Cryptocurrency could help your business or not?

on 03/08/2018, 22:10:34 UTC
I was doing some research online and I stumbled on this kind of news. https://news.bitcoin.com/since-embracing-bitcoin-robinhood-app-value-jumps-to-5-6-billion/

The article said that robinhood app after embracing cryptocurrency have its value jumped to 6 billion dollars after embracing bitcoin. This is a good sign that more and more people are engaging into bitcoin. If more business will enter into the world of cryptocurrency and will bring back the original purpose of cryptocurrency as a medium of exchange rather than just and object of income and a trading item then surely we could revolutionized the world of finance and economy.

With robinhood as an example do you think there will be more business online that will boom and will not go bankrupt due to cryptocurrency?

I guess its hard to determine such facts base on one example so let us wait for the future to unveil itself.

Eventhough I'm not a businessman I can see that crypto currency really helps their business because it gives them extra profit especially today that bitcoin is improving itself, I guess. I think the higher the price of Bitcoin, the more businesses they are emerge so that bitcoin can lead an industry sooner or later. It can be applied to more industries, such as finance, real estate, physical goods, etc., which takes time to get on.

Re: Bitcoin or Property? What might be the best investment?
by

on 26/07/2018, 15:16:41 UTC
First of all it depends on you, why? If you have a lot of money you can do both, but if you don't have enough money to invest then you should choose between them. For me it is better if you invest first to your personal needs especially your personal properties that you know will help you in your everyday life. And if you're financially stable then you can invest in bitcoin.

What are the measures to keep your private key safe and in memory ? Are there any alternatives to retrieve the key back ?
First of all, bitcoin will never be retrieved if ever you don't have a wallet so at first you should know how to keep it secured and safe from those person who would steal it without your permission. Always remember that the more you are aware on the things that happened on you account is also the less chance of hacking it.

Re: Invest into Bitcoin or bank
by

on 22/07/2018, 22:39:16 UTC
I have worked to get $2000 worth of money and I am planning of investing in bitcoin but my uncle is pressuring me to save the money at bank. I have done everything to convince him but he is not comprehending to my point. Please what do i tell him again to convince him?

Investing your money is very risky to the point that you're not sure if that money will be back on you in a higher amount or else it will be back to you with the same amount you've been give at the first place. For me it is better if you invest your money to the trusted bank you've chosen because you're assured that you're money will be safe there and anytime you need it you will withdraw it, while if you invest it in bitcoin, well it's also good but there's a time that bitcoin value gets lower and lower so investing your money in bitcoin is a big decision because you should have a lot of money for you to not be disappointed on everything that might be happen.
