Chinese Yuan Currency symbol = 元
Japanese Yen Currency Symbol = ¥
British Pound Currency Symbol = £
Euro Dollar Currency Symbol =
Nem Coin Currency Symbol = we are not deciding what is good.

By the way, I voted for NEM on hitbtc.com/vote by using the GoAgent last night. cast 20+ votes successfully in one minute! I just kept on clicking the vote button all the time(ignore the warning). Maybe the GoAgent will switch the IP automatically?

The vps with all of the hosted nodes apparently went down.
Since this is the first day of the alpha, we don't have any redundancy yet.
So our small set of gateway nodes all went down.

Thanks for this update, I had try to use the Alpha client, but it's a little difficult for me to set it up, I will try it later.

The Open Alpha is scheduled on 6/25. Let's the countdown begin. We will be inviting selective users into the closed Alpha testing starting in a couple of days. The priority goes to helpers/ volunteers who are in the Trello board or answer the volunteer survey earlier so there is no need to sign up now. Thanks.

I predict this model will not work. exchanging currency and exchanging goods are fundamentally different.
there are/were 5-10 projects around. you can find many threads on the topic going back to 2011 or so. mastercoin will be launching in a couple of days. there is ripple as well, which is not trustless in my opinion.

How does ripple work its always been a e-web wallet and the bitcoins are iou's. Heard of mastercoin it goes untop of bitcoin. Never heard of the other ones.
