I'am new to zcash mining.

I've got 325 Mh/s / Sol/s with one R9 290 and less power consumption compared to ETH Mining. Good?

You can do much better. Hawaii seems to respond extremely well to tighter timings. Here are two threads to get you up to speed:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1561372/hawaii-bios-editing-290-290x-295x2-390-390x

http://www.overclock.net/t/1564219/modded-r9-390x-bios-for-r9-290-290x-updated-02-16-2016

You should be able to get 350-380 with a reasonable core clock / undervolt, more if you then decide to push the core.

Dear Mr. Claymore
Could you include in the next version of asm an optimization for
Bonaire (Radeon R7 260X, Radeon HD 7790)
As far as I understand they are not much different from Pitcairn
Except the width memory bus  and (896/1024 ps Unit)
Not so much Bonaire is weaker to forget about them.
Bonaire should be closer to Hawaii (290 et al) than Pitcairn. Same idea though, although the core count to bus ratio doesn't come close.

About the Crimmson Driver for AMD.

From the main page and on every run of Claymore, it keep shows the need to use 15.12 driver.

If I have the Rx4xx/5xx card, will I see degraded performance if using driver like 17.4.3? or any 17.xx onward? or will this newer driver caused more stability with Claymore?
It's just what's been tested to be a known good for the most part. I've seen no performance penalty with the current drivers.

I have 2x Strix RX 470, best fans I've seen on GPU. No problem with drivers, but I have modded bios so I'm using the patch. I really like Strix.
Different story is Asus Dual, those cards are bad... they now start with Expedition edition, but it has the same noisy fans as Dual :/
I had an asus rx470 as well. Excellent card. If you aren't using both dvi ports, you can use a compatible rx580 bios to get around driver patching. Mine was hynix ajr and I used an msi 4gb rx580 ajr bios. I found that I got better undervolting stability with rx570/580 bioses vs stock (I'd have displays drop out randomly before).

edit: The asus rx570 bios works as well but still requires driver patching if modded.

Since its total PITA to look at 700+ pages, does 120h/s with RX460 2GB seems good?
sounds about right for stock. you could probably get a bit more unlocking to 1024sp and tightening timings.

Hi there, I'm thinking about switching my GPUs from 280x to rx470 (ASUS ROG STRIX-RX470-O4G-GAMING 4GB).
How much hashrate do you get with those? Do you use custom bios from https://anorak.tech/t/anoraks-vbios-collection-optimized-settings-for-performance-power-saving/13 ?

Regards
Haven't played with timings too much, but am using the 1500 strap with nerdralph's tweaks. Running 1150/1750 @ 920mv/900mv, with gpuz reporting an average draw of 74W. Idle draw is around 22W with 900mv vddci (multi-monitor). Gets around 267H/s. Since the machine's running 24/7 anyway, I figure effective mining consumption to be around 52W + vrm/psu losses.

It can do 300H/s at 1250/1750, and around 310H/s at 1350/1750 (memory bottleneck..). Of course, I haven't really tweaked the timings much, so there may be more to be had (stock bios gets around 265H/s at 1250/1750).

You can flash the asus rx570 bios no problem as well. Idle consumption only improves if both monitors are the same resolution Sad

Edit: Looks like I can do 1150@900mv with the rx570 bios (would be stable before but 2nd display would lose sync). GPU-Z reported draw down to 70W now.

Is it normal for the wattage to slowly increase the longer you run the miners. And is it normal for the wattage to go up and down in a range and not a constant rate. This happens on all algos but for ZEC it will start around 540 watts go between say 580 and 540 then range will slowly will go over 600 watts. My PSU is 600w EVGA bronze which  I is why I'm concerned. Is this normal or is there something wrong. Also is 550 to 600 watts normal for 3 470's, seems high.

VRMs heating up and losing efficiency (video cards or power supply). Say the rest of the system uses 80w actual (seems like a high number); that's 600-80=520w for 3 cards, or 173w per card. Assuming 80% efficiency, 173x0.8=139w/card.

You should see a nice drop with some undervolting.

Please see any of the posts about this.  Thank you.

BTC address I've been mining with is now invalid. Any way to move the balance to a different address?
No longer have access to 1Hk2vF17rc2v7uoGLk4i25fr8wGemaGESH

Thank you

Wow... just one question though, what is 86000?

Seconds in a day. Should be 86400.

Regardless, mhs as a unit doesn't make too much sense. kwh (3600kJ) came to be because it can allow for easy mental math (e.g. 100w light bulb x 24h operation = 2400wh = 2.4kwh). Otherwise, if your electric rate were simply $ per kJ, you'd have to do more calculations.

For our case of profitability, the current standard of btc/day per mh/s makes perfect sense, other than being long to express. You simply take your hashrate in mh/s and multiply it by this profitability and you get your expected btc/day.

poolwaffle, I don't have access to the btc address I've been using any more, and so can't send you a signed message from it. Is there any other way I could verify that the address was mine and transfer the balance to a different address? It's not a lot, but enough to be sent out on the Sunday 0.001 payout and get vaporized.
