Despite the volatile market, individuals and institutions are still interested in crypto, and Bitcoin exchanges are under pressure to meet increasing demand with proper regulations.

Re: Beliefs about money and wealth
by

Money is the generally accepted medium of exchange, which develops by the spontaneous action of market participants trying to get around the limitations of barter. So there is never a "ten people in a room, each starting with $100" scenario. Wealth is the ability to satisfy wants. Greater wealth means the ability to satisfy even less and less urgent wants...

According on some research Satoshi Nakamoto was known as the founder or the the brain behind the bitcoin system. But that information is the  thing we know we are still clueless what kind of person he or she. It's still a mystery for everyone the name satoshi Nakamoto if it is a screen name, a group of people or a real name.

Re: what are the common challenges for bitcoin user?
by
zigfridkr
on 20/03/2018, 14:52:19 UTC
As we all know bitcoin has come long way in the eight or so years its been in existence, but their's still long way to go before the digital currency becomes a widely used method of paying for goods and services.
we should know.
1.what challenges are facing bitcoin?
2. how we can prevent it?
3. how we should face those challenges?

Here are some challenges being faced by bitcoin users:

1) Volatile prices: As an investor, the volatile prices may be scary for a lot of people. This applies especially to new investors. Only way to prevent this is by investing for long term which reduces the risk.

2) Negative news: A lot of negative news is spread against bitcoins by media and other people. This may raise doubts in mind of bitcoin users. This can be prevented by following credible new sources.

In addition to these there are various other issues which cannot be prevented by the user. For instance, if your country decides to ban bitcoins completely, you cannot do anythign about it.

Re: Bitcoin is better than gold
by
zigfridkr
on 20/03/2018, 14:32:50 UTC
From an investment point of view, bitcoin is more about gold than it is about other currencies. That's because as an asset, bitcoin and gold have a lot in common. Both are limited to supply, both have functions to use, and many believe that, despite their large price fluctuations, they remain a good store of value. Compared to gold and currency investment returns in the past five years, the currency's performance is far better than the so-called precious metals, gold year loss than 6%, the currency of the annualized rate of return is 155%. These rich returns show that bitcoin has excited investors about the prospect of putting money into such a new asset class.

Compared with the gold standard, the value of the currency rising and proven performance, investors can be used to measure the investment of the world's leading digital currency future opportunity and risk indicators.

The limited supply of gold in natural but in case of bitcoins it is man made. I think they may even change this in future depending on the demand.

Now coming back to which is better in between gold and bitcoin, both have got their own advantages and disadvantages. One of the biggest advantages of bitcoins over gold in my opinion is that it is so easy to carry. Even the safety is not a concern. But regarding gold, it is very common to hear incidents of gold being robbed from houses or even jewelry shops.

Re: The simple and undeniable reason why all cryptocurrencies will collapse
by
zigfridkr
on 20/03/2018, 14:22:03 UTC
Galileo Galilei once said, “All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.” Discovering truth about cryptocurrencies (cryptos) and showing that they are not money but faith based schemes that are bound to collapse, is the goal of this article. The first step toward achieving this goal is to explain why economic relations between people, where transfer of ownership rights is taking place, cannot be based on faith, and how, in that regard, cryptos differ from tangible goods and fiat money. After that, we will know what money actually is, and what it represents. Given this knowledge it will become clear why cryptos never were, nor ever will be money. The rest you can read here: https://cryptofraud.wordpress.com/

Faith is an important thing, even God's existence depends on it.Smiley

Coming to money and finance, why is gold valuable ? Has it got some miraculous powers over other metals ? It is just because people consider it valuable. The final outcome you are predicting for bitcoins is that they will ultimately collapse. This may happen in future but it will be because of other powerful people wanting it to crash. It has already survived even after so much negativity for more than 8 years and the value had also been increasing consistently. I am still very much hopeful with bitcoins.

Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum
by
zigfridkr
on 20/03/2018, 14:17:31 UTC
Between these two, I will go for ethereum. One of the most important factor one should consider before investing in a coin is regarding its utility. Bitcoin has no practical use and has a number of problems like high transaction fees. Another problem associated with bitcoins is that its price is manipulated. That is the reason why the prices dropped from $17000 to $11000 in just two months. This makes your investment very risky in case of bitcoins and ethereum is much more stable.

Re: Merit! Why Merit is sold and how to stop it?
by
zigfridkr
on 20/03/2018, 14:16:11 UTC
selling or buying merit is not against the rules, there will always be people who try to abuse ANY system in place
the thing is,they cannot just get away with it easily
if their posts are rubbish and they get 5-50 merits for an obviously spam post (or a "special" merit magnet topics as I call them)
the rules also do not prohibit for a D1-D2 trust member to waste their efforts by red tagging Smiley
don't know where the 28$ figure is coming from, but that is crazy

I think that it is impossible for the admin and staff to catch all members involved with buying and selling of accounts or merits here. Only thing we can do is taking strict against spam posters. There should be clear guidelines  like a member making a particular number of low quality posts will get temporary ban and so. All the members here will have to contribute their part in this by submitting correct reports using the report to moderator option. That "report to moderator" options should carry some rewards like merits for accurate submissions.

Re: Can we send merit to self?
by
zigfridkr
on 20/03/2018, 14:12:21 UTC
I just observed that I can send merit to my own post but I am afraid that is not right or I'll be punished by getting banned for doing it?
Has anyone ever tried sending merit to themselves? Has that created an issue? Is it okay to do so?
I personally think that AS merit was created to reward meaningful and informative posts sending merit to self would be wrong. I just want to know that has anyone tried doing it.

Just use your common sense and you will get the answer.

Re: Merit & new rank requirements
by

Im working on my grammar, I have been using my tablet and not the pc. So im usually missin a couple of punctuation marks, That and im a country boy from Arkansas so any ideas on what i could do to gain more attention? Ore possibly where i can find information to better myself please and thanks yall!!!

Don't put over effort in grammar rather just add something valuable in whatever being discussed  Wink

Most of the members who do not have good English think that it is almost impossible for them to get merits here. But in my opinion, they also have good chances provided they take are of :

1) Content quality: If you are compensating bad grammar with superb content here, you can still expect good number of merits. I am sure that senior members here do consider the effort being made by a remember while making a useful post.

2) Posting images of videos: In case your English is very bad, you might not be able to even frame sentences. In such a case, you can try posting images and videos related to the forum rules and can get some merits.

Re: Merit & new rank requirements
by

Looks like the only way to get merit is create some really usefull topicks/threads with really good information for Member and up . Because if i create some tutorials for newbies , there will be nobody to give me merit , because newbies dont have it as know . Ok maybe some ranked up member will give me some , not sure . But so far i like the new system Smiley

I do not agree to this completely. If a senior member or merit source sees as member making effort in putting useful information here, he will still give merits even if the content posted is not of much use to their rank. This has already happened in the past for a number of threads. For instance, some senior members were giving away merit points to new members by asking them to quote their posts in their thread. This was not open for senior members still they gave merits to OP for the concern he has showed for the forum.

Re: theymos, monetize this forum ;)
by
zigfridkr
on 17/03/2018, 18:43:52 UTC
Since it's been stated above here in a quote of one of Theymos' posts that he's ruled out this idea already.
I could only offer two additional suggestions (I've been skimming this thread so it's possible these have already been mentioned).

However:
 • Charge campaign runners to run campaigns here (as charging for signatures seems a bit rediculous IMO as some people might just want to put random stuff below their posts to advertise their services, and if we charge for signatures then do we also charge for a personal message and avatar - like my bitcoin address that I have left there?)

 • Issue fines for BOTH or Either campaign managers or signature campaign owners for running campaigns that just support bad posting quality. I don't mean, one user posts with a low quality, I mean that the entire member of a campaign continues to get posts deleted by moderators (like more than 5 or 10%). This money could then be donated to the moderators for the job that they do to help clear up the forum and to theymos and his developer teem to keep new ideas like the merit system flowing.

2) Because of the above reason , a lot of new members keep joining the forum in the hope of getting accepted. They also make posts here and all this results in forum getting traffic. Indirectly, these members are also helping forum and are responsible for the advertisement slots being sold here.

Also, more members getting involved in Bitcoin increases the acceptance of the currency as a thing and also pushes the price up a bit.
So many members discussing Bitcoin shows that the currency has a user-base behind it and that it's potentially worth its value as it is.
And it helps with the delocalisation of the currency and if more peopole have a small amount, it becomes more valuable as it's split across more people.

I would like to start with the information you shared about the benefits of more members getting involved with bitcoins. This is really an important point. Once the member starts getting some bitcoins and then sees growth in the price of those bitcoins in future, he will be encouraged to invest own money in bitcoins as well. Most of the people think that signature campaigns are giving free money. If we observe carefully, some time goes in making posts required for getting paid by the campaign. If you use that time for any other freelance activity, you will get paid there also but in cash mostly.

Re: Feeling sad
by
zigfridkr
on 17/03/2018, 18:40:16 UTC
I just rank up today at 70 activity but still I'm a Junior member because my merits are not enough, so I feel so sad..because honestly I'm having hard time earning it. I don't have much knowledge in bitcoin though I research but not all sink in my mind so its really hard for me to earn merit.. Is there any other way to earn merit except for quality posts? Please excuse my grammar.

You already got 5 merit points and this means that you have completed half the journey towards next rank (member). If you keep posting good quality posts, you will easily achieve the member rank in 1-2 months. You can utilize that time to sharpen your knowledge about bitcoins so that you make better investment decisions.

Regarding, other ways to get merit points, there are some ways but they are not ethical. Some members here are involved in buying / selling of merit points and they are getting recognized now and being punished by senior members.
