Re: Best wallet for altcoins?
by

The huge advantage is, that most of the tokens are created on the ERC-20 platform and are provided by one wallet. I recommend to buy a hardware-wallet, which allowes to store several dozens of tokens at one place. Exotic tokens in small quantities may be stored at popular exchanges. Only don't forget about 2FA

Re: Long term vs. Short term
by

There are projects that have a good future in the long term prospect and they will be able to make a revolution in the sphere of blockchains. There are many such coins. For me it's dash, lisk, stellar, aelf, cnd, omg and others. In total, I have allocated about 20 such altcoins, which I'm going to keep for at least a year (if there is not any bad news).
There are short-term projects that have positive events in the near future and can make profit on these news. Among such news can be the release of the product, entering exchanges, signing an agreement with a new partner, fork (look at the ETC charts before the fork).

So, I recommend using both strategies.

Re: Buying Alts with ETH or BTC

Two main active assets in my portfolio are eth and btc. I use btc in trading and  fix the income in btc. I use eth for investing into ICO. In such a way, the change of Bitcoin in my wallet allowes to define how successfully I'm trading, and Ethereum shows how successfully I invest to ICO.
I suppose this year Etherium will draw level with Bitcoin in capitalization and we'll have two cryptocurrency standards.

Re: I lost half of my crypto amount! what to do?

Market have been crazy over the last few months so the best thing to do is to hold and wait until values completely recovers from the dip. If you still have the financial capacity to purchase some coins and take advantage of the low prices, it would also be a good thing to do but choose the coins you will buy carefully.

Tone Vays, surely made a lot of useful things for cryptocurrency society and for Bitcoin popularization, but is opinions surprise me. Yes, Bitcoin is the main cryptocurrency yet, but Altcoins are functionally ahead Bitcoin and it solves real problems. Bitcoin it is just one more currency, while the range of altcoins has already moved beyond the measure of exchange. That is why I am sure that hundreds of altcoins will exist for many years.

Re: Trading by technical analysis or just intuition?
by

Trade by intuition is not a trade, but just a casino. Of course, I do not exclude the fact that intuition can help you in your choice, but only after a thorough fundamental and technical analysis.
When you risk your money, you have to work on a clearly structured trading strategy.

Re: Is Your Money Safer In Crypto than at the Bank?
by
zimmah
on 21/08/2018, 19:51:44 UTC
Remember, when you open a bank deposit, the money does not belong to you, but to the bank. During the global financial crisis, many banks who could not return money to their depositors, went bankrupt. In economically weak countries, banks are ruined even out of times of crisis.
So, bitcoin is definitely more reliable.

P.S. I hope Tim's forecast will come true

Re: If your coin increased 40% - 200% in value over night. What would you do?
by

It all depends on the reasons of growth. If it was a natural growth (for example, one of the tasks specified in the roadmap was realized), then I will continue to keep this coin anyway. Perhaps I will sell a small part of it. If it was a random growth, or temporary speculation, then most likely I will sell it.

Binance is the optimum choise. Reliable market with a big amount of altcoins.
Should you sell altcoins now? If you are not in an urgent need of money, better wait. In a year, your revenue will be a pleasant surprise.

I would not recommend to invest in ico, while you are a beginner. Investment in ICO is much risky than altcoins. Most of this year tokens, after launching at the exchange are traded at a price lower than ICO. And not all of them reach the exchange. For a start, buy a reliable eth and btc. Then start learning the top-50 altcoins and choose the most promising ones.

If you participate in the bounty of all ico in a row, it will be like a lottery. But if you analyze the campaigns in which you are involved,  there will be few unpleasant surprises. So, choose  the bounty the same thoroughly as the ico

Yeah, it's not the easiest time for investors. Last year we got used to the growth, and now we see the losses. It is the most sad that altcoins portfolio fall in relation to the bitcoin, and that the coins after ico rapidly fall in price.
Hovever, nobody said that the cryptocurrency is risk-free, so we are waiting for better times.

It's hard to say which minimum amount you need to start with. I started with $1000. Half of them invested in etherium and bitcoin, and the remaining $500 was distributed among altcoins ($50 each). When altcoins began to grow in value, I sold and bought some new interesting coins. Also he invested in fiat funds from the salary every month.

If there are 10-20 coins in your portfolio and you made a mistake only with one of them, then it's not scary. This is the essence of investing in dozens of altcoins: there will always be unprofitable investments. But the main thing is to make more profitable investments. So don`t worry.

Re: When will ICOs die?
by

At the moment, ICO is one of the most advanced tools for investment. It has much more advantages than a classic IPO does. I think that people who have learned from bad experience will be more careful in analyzing projects and, therefore, only the most block chain start-ups will receive financing.

Try to join the ico with a small hard cap or where there are limits on contributions per person. I managed to participate in the small ico, where there was a limit of about 1 eth. Large investors were interested to make a big contribution, but due to limitations they had to buy tokens already on the exchange and, as a consequence, the price went up.

This is not surprising. In any field dealing with big money, there are crooks who want to deceive you. So, such a high crime rate suggests that the cryptocurrency is becoming popular and available throughout the world.

Re: how to manage losses?
by

I advise all my friends who have invested money in cryptocurrency, to check the tokens value not so often. People love several times a day to go on coinmarketcap and get upset about any drops. If you have no time to engage in trading do fundamental analysis in the interested coins, buy them and don't sell for several months.

During the fall of bitcoin prices, we see the further fall of the price of altcoins. For example, this year, many promising tokens dropped in price against bitcoin by 50-70%. Therefore, in such periods, I try to fill up my altcoin portfolio.
