To add to my previous post, and repeat for those who didn't see this, Hakkane informed that the problems are known.
See also https://www.reddit.com/r/siacoin/comments/7ld1ic/siacoin_exchange_issues_megathread/ and the quote below.

any reason why wallets are locked on Bittrex ? Just regular maintenance ?

And will the price go down when they unlocked them ?

Update about the issues in different exchanges (statement from the official Discord):

The Sia team has been actively working to fix some of the underlying issues that have recently affected the exchanges.  They are working on new algorithms for rebroadcasting transactions on the blockchain (PR #2611, #2599, #2598), have added an API endpoint for confirmed transactions (PR #2614), and have added new regression tests for the wallet’s transaction output (PR #2608, #2601).  The team is well aware of the exchange issues and these improvements are in support of a long-term fix, rather than a band-aid.  You can follow the development progress on GitHub, or stay up to date via reddit at https://www.reddit.com/r/siacoin/comments/7ld1ic/siacoin_exchange_issues_megathread/.

is there a reason that the course is so high now?  Grin
it's up to the upcoming hardfork  Huh

Please remind the hardfork on block 139.000 (in about 19 days) will not generate a second coin (no "airdrop"). This fork will be non-contentious, it is just a protocol upgrade aimed to correct a bug in the mining difficulty. All the infrastructure (mining pools, exchanges, services) and users are upgrading to version 1.3.1, so the legacy blockchain will be abandoned.

If you have coins already on an exchange there is nothing to do, as they have already upgraded. If you hold your coins in the Sia-UI client just be sure it is updated to version 1.3.1. Even if it is in an outdated client or in cold storage you'll still keep your coins as long as you keep your recovery seed: at any time in the future you just have to install an updated client and use your seed to access your funds

It's dead, sell it before it goes to few satoshis.

All people that kept saying to hold and buy in the last 6 months, they lost like 90 % of their money, sell this asap.

Company only cares about selling miners for its coin.

Very bad investment.

I will quote each person telling me the opposite one month from now december first, when coin es dead.

The only thing probably dead is the judgment skills of some people. Evaluating the status of a project by the price charts vs Bitcoin is a nosense, as Bitcoin has increased by 7x its value in the current year. It is like stating that you are driving backwards in a highway just because a faster car passed you by. If you compare the price vs FIAT, the value of SC has been moving in the range of 0.35-0.5 cents of dollar for several months.

But still, evaluating a project just by a price chart is dumb, and the biggest mistake of "investors" of the cryptosphere. Have you ever seen a Wall Street investor just looking stock charts exclusively and not quarterly reports, operational milestones and so of the companies he invests in?.

I posted this yesterday here, lets recap some facts:

14414 new transactions on the network yesterday: https://siastats.info/transactions.html

Yesterday we reached a new yearly record of active contracts, with a total of 71472 https://siastats.info/active_contracts.html

6 Pull Requests have been merged to the main code on the last 7 days: https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia/pulse . 24 merged Pull Requests and 90 closed Issues in the last month. This public progress report was made by the CEO of Nebulous and Core developer David Vorik 4 days ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/siacoin/comments/78nr20/development_and_progress_update/

"Has anyone used the services of SIa project" you ask, @savetytdpbl? With more than 95TB of storage usage, 3.2PetaBytes of offered storage (https://siastats.info/hosts_network.html) and more than 300TB of used storage in the history of Sia (https://siastats.info/total_contracts.html), I would say: Obviously yes, and very successfully so far>>

Quote me on December or whenever you wish. If you really think that the value the coin will have on December has any relevance, you don't understand anything about Sia or the cryptoshere in general. Sia has an ambitious roadmap for the next 18 months. Let the core developers fulfill it and then come back to see where Siacoin is in terms of value

It's a great eval of the project and investment and I agree. There's a solid model behind this, there's no 'cutting corners' with ICO's or other weird structures to gain quick. This also means we've to be patient and give the devs some time to work on this. I can imagine there's probably other stuff that needs to be done as well. Also, if you compare the speed of progress in the crypto world with actual successful corporates, it's still quite amazing how fast this goes! Good example for many corps Smiley

Hi there! My apologies for not getting back to you immediately. We have quite some channels that need to be monitored and as we are an actual operational ticketing company, see all the events we allready ticket with our blockchain based ticketing application here. You can see all events we sell tickets for here https://events.guts.tickets/events. Tonight we have a theater show in Doetichem that we'll ticket, ownership changes are registered here: https://kovan.etherscan.io/address/0x327921c956f3db3a0920a0f79f32adc0a6f27237. So enough info, I presume you have checked out our website so you'll already know most of what I just said.  Smiley

it is true that there are some initiatives like the one you linked to that on the surface look like they are efforts to really 'help the fan'. But if you research Live Nation a bit you'll know they are playing all sides of this market at the same time. I also mention this in our blogpost about our short-term roadmap and will go into more depth on this in my next blog. If these companies would really want to eliminate ticket fraud and scalping they already could have done so allready, but they don't because it will hurt their bottom line.

Thanks for the answer and elaboration kasper, good to see the activities and great to hear your view on the industry. Looking forward to your next blog post. Will you share it here when it's published?

Pre ico didnt finished yet. I think team needs more advertisement. It should already finish in day 1

The pre-ico is almost filled (at 90% now) please note that we put the 6 ETH max cap per white lister there for a reason! We are pretty much pre-marketing at this point and the goal here was to build a base of advocates. And with +600 people contributing to the pre-sale I can safely say we have a base allright!  Cool
Great news Kasper! Can you maybe elaborate on my questions I asked earlier?
See here:
Some things I can't figure out from your whitepaper and your posts in this thread is;
How big is the actual problem in the secondary market? Do you have any data around the amount of 'honest people' want to sell their ticket on the secondary market?
Are you really taking away the problem with this new tech? And is it even a problem, with services like Ticketswap already in place?

Another point I want to raise is that the NBA in the US uses https://www.ticketexchangebyticketmaster.com/ to resell tickets. Resold tickets are issued on the new buyers name. How do you plan to beat this big player with a huge market share and already available technology?

Curious to hear the answers!

Don't want to be complaining, but it seem that my questions are ignored. Any specific reason? If you don't or can't answer, that's also fine of course. Just trying to explore opportunities Smiley

What made it pump ? A big news?

To think i had this coin back then 6 months ago at 6000 Satoshis
Lots of things happened. Segwit activation, Lightning network, Atomic Swap, Coinomi, Ledger Nano S and Blue support.
Just to name a few events. Basically almost the entire roadmap is done.

Incredible how you keep going! As the developer, what do you think is the most important feature of viacoin? Speed, security, swap or something else?
I agree, great coin an great progress Romano!!

I've been watching this and think it's a great project worth investing in, both some money but also patience.. As a community we should give the team some breathing space to work on this instead of complaining on the price. If you believe the project, support it!!

Anyway, I'll be here to support and help where I can!

Hey guys, been following this coin for a long while now and building up my collection of SIA slowly with these low prices.. perfect! Meanwhile I'm going to setup SIA storage as backup for my personal stuff, both to support and experience how this piece of tech works.

I've also read (& bookmarked) the reddit with the dev update; great great work!!

Hello all,

I've been following this coin a lot and believe the story that the dev tells us.
It's difficult to answer all the 'customers' when you've got a lot of coding to do.
I have been a coder myself and now work with customers. Trust me, it's really time consuming to answer everyone in person. I just want to let you know it's probably a good sign that he's not answering so much Smiley
And for those who want to step in, there are some cheap sell orders on bittrex and poloniex.. if you're patient it might be worth it.

If it goes up, I will join the trading again. Don't want to loose to much...

Thanks!

Hey zro,
i have a coin suggestion for revival
TWECOIN

it's one the good rare coins out there
very unique algorithm with an up running wallet and strong network
it has it's own algorithm (first and only of it's kind)
no premine at all
no instamine

but unfortunately it hasn't an active developer or community right now
you guys may just want to take a look at this great abandoned coin
i believe it worth for revival
Thanks for the recommendation Sinohe88.
We'll take it in to account when we're back with the full team.

Will keep you posted!

hello, help me, i cant build FryCoin for my pool, cant get sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev, libdb4.8++-dev, libboost1.37-dev.
Terminal say its àckage obsolete other not exist.
But developer say " Ubuntu precise has packages for libdb5.1-dev and libdb5.1++-dev, but using these will break binary wallet compatibility, and is not recommended".
and with this db5.1 version make fail on building.
thanks
Hello raulrichart,

I don't have to much experience building frycoin on a linux environment, but did you try it with the most recent version of the libdb packages?
If that's 5.1 it might be worth testing it.
If it doesn't work, you could also compile older versions yourself or install from a .deb file.

Let me know what your steps were if more problems pop up.

Any News?

Well let's see:

- We got on Coinmarketcap!
- We have DarkGravityWave V3
- Coin halving is coming soon!

Much news!

How are you? Smiley

Any of this actually happening?

Yes! Smiley

- CMC: http://coinmarketcap.com/all.html
- Coin Revival Foundation implemented Dark Gravity Wave V3 in the code
- COin halving will happen at block 250,000 (25k blocks) and will happen every 150k blocks untill it reaches 50.

I could really use some help with Marketing, though. Anybody interested to help out?
Hey,

Maybe you can join forces with the CRF?
We're already doing some Marketing and I'm happy to help you out to get this thing going.

Is there any specific plans you have?

Obfuscode already helped me a lot and mailed JonesD about it, but think they're already busy with other coin. Maybe you can help out?

Ya, i'll discuss it with the team and see where we can help. The coin is cool Smiley
