The innosilicon a4 is still too much for my budget... anything somewhere half way inbetween those two?

Thanks

buy a used  gtx 1060 or two and go for ethereum

I'd prefer not to mine ethereum, but litecoin instead. I did see a miner out there called a 'FutureBit Moonlander 2' has anyone been using those? How did you like it? I'm guessing that you could just plug in some sort of USB extender 'stick' and plug a bunch of them in and start mining right? Nice, and small and compact for sure.

Hi all - fairly new to the hobby. I've got only three GAW fury miners at 1.44 MHz/s is the Gridseed faster than these? From what I've read, I thought that they're only good for litecoin mining and are 300KH/s. I also read that they're 8GH/s. So, not really sure??

So, if that's the case, then what is the next (reasonable) step up from this - I'm looking for something inexpensive, and no don't suggest an ANT miner. I'm not forking out or even considering something that's $2k.

Board Mining software (miners)

Hi,
I'm trying to mine some litecoins with bfgminer. I've downloaded and installed the software, modified my bat file to look like this for my GPU card:

bfgminer.exe --scrypt opencl:auto -o stratum+tcp://us.litecoinpool.org:3333 -u <> -p <>

However, as soon as I execute this (double-click on it) - it opens up the window to start running it which is great.. bad news is that it's pointing to a slushpool.org site and the userID is also wrong instead of my site? I don't get that? any help here on that? It's version 5.4.2

oh- also, I wasn't sure if the .conf file needed to be modified, but I opened it up with notepad and found that it also had that slushpool on there so I changed it to my pool information, and it's still reverting to the slushpool information.
Was I supposed to save the config file as a specific named one? If so, then what should it be named?

Thanks

It sounds like maybe it is picking up something from a config file.  I can't recall what the config file is called for bfgminer, something .conf.  See if there is one and either rename it or delete it.

EDIT: I guess alternatively you could also just put your own config in the config file as well...

OK, I found and modified the cf.conf file accordingly.. but it's still coming up with the slushpool.org information. Any help now?
I also thought that maybe I needed to reboot the machine. So, I did that too. Still, that didn't solve it.

Thanks

status of the old Gaw/fury miners
by

Hi all, yes I'm an amateur miner. a while ago I purchased 3 Gaw fury miners and thought it would be fun to mine the Dogecoins. Well, after reading the reddit forum, they're basically dead. So, Litecoin is still alive, ok I switched to that but then after reading the cost effectiveness in the whattomine website, I'm losing almost a dollar a day trying to crunch those blocks (I belong to a pool).
So, two questions here - if these machines are so worthless then how come people are listing these on eBay and they're still going for upwards of around $50 a piece?

Second question - Can these machines ONLY mine just scrypt, or can they mine something else? If so, then what?

Sorry, no I don't have a big budget to go out and by a six-pack of 480 cards. That's just not going to happen so please don't recommend that I save up 3-5k for this. I'm only dabbling in it, but still want to turn a small profit.

Oh, and recently for Christmas - I also purchased a used AMD Radeon HD 7850 FX-785A-ZNL4 1GB. So, if I can use that as well to do some crunching that would be great. Thanks for any advice you can help me with!

Any help please?

I have a wallet problem. It says it's 90 weeks behind, and on the bottom it says "No block source available"

I didn't see anything in the wallet which shows any sort of url to modify/update which I am able to change? Is that something we should be changing? One of the previous replies mentioned this site:
https://prohashing.com/explorer/Fedoracoin/

However, I'm not sure what that site would do for my wallet?

Any help/advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey guys.. new here to the forum and brand new for dogecoin. I just setup a cudaminer on my graphics card and it's really slow (about 40 Kh/s) and signed up with ypool to mine it. It's done a few blocks, but hasn't paid me out any dogecoins at all (won't be for about 15 days I estimate at the rate I'm going).

So, if anyone's willing to throw me a few donation dogecoins my way I don't even know if my wallet is setup right which is Why I'm asking about this.. here's my payment address (I hope I'm doing this right):

Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX]
by

on 01/04/2015, 15:46:20 UTC
So, now that I'm up and going, I obviously have several other questions...
1) with Windows 7, should I be using some sort of default 'theme' to help increase my khash/se? If so, then what?
2) Getting extra graphics cards for my PC... so how many can I buy for it? Then, when I buy them, I assume that I just create a new .bat file for each GPU card, and then execute them?
3) What about power savings mode on my PC? Should that be disabled or switched to something else?

Thanks for all your help.

Got it going!
never mind... it was up at the top in my 'current coin mode' in my pool which threw me off. It wasn't set to Dogecoin.

It's crunching now!

Thanks

coinits, I just tried running the bat file again this morning, and it's still not working. So, I'm suspecting that the pool isn't down?
Thanks

See Bombadil's message above.

OK, so I assume that the password is the one of your worker, not the one of your userID getting into the pool right?

What coin are you mining? Is it Doge?

yes.. Doge. am I supposed to setup some other sort of payment Dogecoin address of where it sends it's rewards to? Or, is that just logged to/within my worker's account automatically?
