Kudos to the development team Fibre OS is looking good. Installed and set very easily, just follow the instructions. I have never used ubuntu befor and i am not sure how to update the tor browser. First of all how do i get to it once i download it? i did not see any kind of file manager?

Hey , FibreOS is optimized to be fast operating system with quick access to Your cold storage.

However You can install in it anything You want.

Here is the link and install instructions for Nemo file manager

http://www.noobslab.com/2013/10/nemo-file-manager-with-extensions-for.html

Here is the link also with instructions for Tor browser

http://www.enqlu.com/2014/04/how-to-install-tor-browser-bundle-in-ubuntu-14-04-lts-or-linux-mint-17-via-ppa.html

OK, Thanks! I will check those out. Another question, is it possible to encrypt the entire usb drive and still boot from it?

This is on the FibreOS Road map!! It is at the bottom of the list as their is inbuilt encryption functionality. However, I have bumped it up the list due to you requesting it.

Regards
Killa

Ok, thanks i will take a look at that.  On another note, I operate an online store and currently accept digital currency via bitpay however i will be switching to CoinPayments soon (https://www.coinpayments.net) I have requested that they add FIBRE to their list of accepted coins. I would be great if you and any other members of the community make a similar request. Thanks

Merchants and alt coins

I am a merchant that currently accepts bitcoin, litecoin and ppcoin, I process bitcoin payment via Bitpay. All other coins I process manually after agreeing on an exchange rate with the customer, after which there Is a time limit to initiate transfer of the coin. (usually 15 minutes) How are some of you other merchants dealing with this? I have been after bitpay to add additional coins without much success.

Re: Why I think PPCoin will be next on mtgox after Litecoin
by

The key to the long term viability of any digital currency is acceptance from merchants. Obviously bitcoin leads the pack in this regard. Litecoin, PPcoin and Feathercoin will continue to lag behind until they can improve there standing with merchants.

Netcoin had done a tremendous job building up to its release. If it could get some merchants lined up in advance it would be an absolute winner. I currently accept bitcoin, litecoin and ppcoin at DirectVoltage.com and plan to accept netcoin from the get go

Re: OK Mod told me no Child boards - Then "Cyrptocurrencies" Own forum?

Hello, I have some experience managing large online communities. (BusinessAviationNetwork.net) (Business Aviation Network on LinkedIn) I have been considering putting up a alt currency forum @ DigitalCurrencyNetwork.com

I was hoping to develop more of an digital currency networking organization that would hold local meetups where members could meet and engage in conversation and exchange ideas about the world of digital currency.

I work mostly with joomla cms and while Joomla is a powerful networking group platform the forum extensions for Joomla suck pretty bad. We would have to use a different platform or find a suitable bridge.

I know from personal experience that managing an online community takes a tremendous amount of work and dedication. It is not just a matter of throwing up a forum and kicking back. I would be happy to assist in this proposal or any other worthwhile idea anyone might have.
