No coins are lost.

Close the wallet before doing this.

Navigate to the following folder:

Windows: %AppData%/VeriCoin
Mac: /Library/Application Support/VeriCoin
Linux: ~/.vericoin

Or use Windows key + R type %AppData% and hit enter and find the VeriCoin folder

Remove everything from the %AppData% folder, except the wallet.dat (MAKE A BACKUP OF THIS FILE!!!)

Download and place the file vericoin.conf in the same directory (http://www.vericoin.info/downloads/vericoin.conf).

Start the VeriCoin client again, reload the blockchain and after that rescan the wallet using the file menu.

All your coins should be back now.

Thank you very much for the help souljah1h, I have followed the steps you have indicated and it seems that everything is going as you have written, they have returned all the vericoins that had the three hundred and peak.
