If I'm just playing with an idea and stick a few hundred into it, I don't really care if it fails. If I throw most of my bank balance into something, I'll work my fingers to the bone to make sure it works out.

Furthermore, this is not the sort of thing you expect of someone running a bank before they sit before a parliamentary committee (from his twitter account on 18th March 2014):

Is that really professional?

Are we dealing with a real business that wants to 'make it' and change our world, or just some idle plaything for a slightly dumb rich kid?

Imitating what other 'bankers' do is not a playing factor. Plus, you obviously don't know Cyprus. Half the people in parliament are on their phones at any given time anyway (unless there are cameras present, of course)
