We're just about to release an updated wallet, but there shouldn't be any issues on the current build. Hard to tell from the description if the wallet is opening and is just drawing strange, or if it's running into another issue.

Solved! The wallet was opening for real out of screen. Last time I opened it from my office PC (34 inch display 21:9 widescreen) via Remote Desktop. My home PC is 22" and Windows for unknown reasons keeps opening the wallet it in the non-existent part of the screen Undecided
