No idea what the future holds. But these forks do seem to keep coming. It seems to be functioning as a promotion for exchanges to attract customers. A subset of bitcoiners will flock sign up if they have exclusive support.

Perhaps the right way to look at the forks/airdrops are free casino chips or a coupon as a promotion for a service. Perhaps airdrops might become like coupons for non-cryptocurrency services that wish to attract an early-adopter Bitcoin demographic. Just happy to be building something while the price action is quiet - buying low on sweat equity
