A full-node is a mining node.

A node:

Relies on other mining nodes to accept its blocks as valid. Rejects any invalid blocks.

29) Explain the difference between a public and private blockchain
A private blockchain merely acts as a permissioned network that enables entities to secure information. A private blockchain is not actually a true blockchain since the access to it is restricted to pre-selected parties. Public blockchain is what it name says; public. Anyone can join on the network without having to apply for permission etc. Anyone can see what happens on the blockchain, which is not something you can do on a private blockchain.

Properly permissioned blockchain networks differ from unpermissioned blockchain networks solely based on the presence (or absence) of an access control layer built into the blockchain clients.

The first primary difference between a properly conceived permissioned blockchain network and an unpermissioned blockchain network is whether the participants in the network have an ability to restrict who can participate in the consensus mechanism of the blockchains network.
