What is 🎃 Halloween?

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on October 31 every year, and Halloween 2023 will occur on Tuesday, October 31. Today this event or day will be celebrated all over the world.

Where does Halloween come from?
There was once an Indo-European race in the world called Celt. They lived on Earth during the Iron Age. The part of the world that is today Ireland and the northern part of France, was once founded here by the Celts.

Why is this festival celebrated?
The Celtics believed that on this night the evil spirits of the dead come to travel the world. Evil spirits damage crops. To appease them, the high priests of the Celts used to make huge bonfires of straw, wood and leaves. Into this fire the Celts threw their crops and domesticated animals and burned them as sacrifices to evil spirits.
This 'dedication' ceremony to evil spirits was similar to exorcism. How is that?
The Celtics believed that at the end of summer, evil spirits came to the earth, so that the crops did not grow, the leaves shriveled, the trees died, everything around became dead and cold. They also believed that the souls of the dead are trikaljna – the souls know all about the past, present and future. The Celts thought that if the evil spirits could be appeased on this night, the high priests of the Celts would get a good idea of the future crops and farming through them. Because according to their belief, evil spirits are responsible for crop failure.
Throughout the festival, the Celts wore strange costumes and masks to keep evil spirits from harming them. The clothes were like ghostly ghosts. The Celtics did this, thinking that if they disguised themselves as ghosts, the evil spirits from the other world would not recognize them, and would consider the surviving Celtics members of their own. As a result, there will be no possibility of harm to them by evil spirits.
Christianity began to penetrate the lands of the Celts.
In 609, the then Pope decided that a commemoration ceremony and a feast would be held every year to commemorate the souls of Christian martyrs and martyrs. That year the day fell on 13th May. What do you think the next Pope came and moved that day from May 13th to November 1st? This day has since been called All Saints Day or All Souls Day - a day to pay respect to the souls of the dead.

November 1st is the day of 'All-hallows' festival. The night before that, i.e. 31st October, Saw-win night was called All-hallows' eve. 'Eve' means 'even' in Scottish; It was pronounced e'en or een when pronounced. With the passage of time, the once All-hallows' eve became (All) Hallow(s) e(v)en or Halloween.
