You just spike up the house edge and instead of making 1 million dollar revenue and 500 thousand cost for a 500 thousand profit, you end up with 5 million in revenue and 4 million in cost for a million in profit.

As you can see the latter is actually making more profit, but it also spends a lot more as well, it all depends on how well you can do marketing. They are doing marketing with giving away most of the revenue, however they also do a lot of marketing by putting up ads everywhere as well because you can be giving away 10 billion dollars if you want but if nobody knows whats the point of it?
