I do think that it is a good move to dump these sockpupets, i just hope no innocent people get caught up in it, as others have mentioned here, that they bought stakes for other family members etc.

You were not supposed to get more than 2 stakes even for other family members and friends. The rule was only one stake for you, and only one more for someone else.
