I would be happy to explain. Yes the dividend is based on your total investment. So if you bought 10,000 NXT worth and the dividend was 4.5 for the week 450 would automatically deposit into your account. The transactions can be done through the NXT client or a web-based client like Secure Asset Exchange. If you wish to cash in your dividends you can always click on the "Send NXT" button and send them to your favorite exchange where NXT is traded against BTC.

It is actually very simple once you have done it a few times.

100 AutoDiv @ 6.21
and
100 AutoDiv @ 6.38

I invested: 1259 NXT


Next devidend: what do i get?
200 AutoDiv*4.5 = 9 AutoDiv

At which rate will they be converted?



AutoDiv closed to new investors at the price of 4 NXT each. Dividends for AutoDiv are all calculated at 4 NXT so people getting in now do not get quite as good of a deal as those who bought during the ICO but they still do well. So in your example you would get 200*4 (800) * 4.5 or 36 NXT. However, AutoDiv is actually paid daily and the usual dividend rate is around 1.01% daily so to be specific 200 AutoDiv would be multiplied at 4 for a total of 800 and the dividend for the day would be 8.08.

The same 1259 invested in AutoDiv3 would result in 125900 AutoDiv at a rate of 1259 NXT * 4.5% for 56.655 NXT for the week.

Summary:

AutoDiv (Dividend rate based on 4 NXT each token price - Dividend paid daily.)  Example: 400 AutoDiv 400 NXT used for dividend rate.
AutoDiv3 (Dividend rate based on .1 NXT each token price - Dividend paid weekly.) Example: 10000 AutoDiv3 1000 NXT investment used for dividend rate.


AutoDiv3 sells for .1 each so the Dividend rate is calculate at .1 each.
