With the password you have another wallet with different keys. It may be as simple as the option to prompt for the password having gotten unselected.

in response to 600watt this would have been my tip, see the advanced options before wiping. the wallet was most probably just fine and did not prompt for password, no need to wipe & restore. but good to read you found your way
