I have no idea what a PoS masternode is. So it's not a mixer like Dash, what is it? What's the purpose besides being a revenue generator for masternode operators? I know it gets coins off the market and locked into a node which is good for supply/demand, but what's their function? Is it the only way i stake? I can't stake in my wallet, I need to be a masternode? that kind of makes sense but creates an elite group of rich people who already have a lot of money to become masternode(s) and keep getting more money because they take portions of everyone's transactions.

Nope, staking is normally working for DPOS and POS stages. Masternodes will be added after PoW and DPOS will ends if community will request. We will open a poll after launch to know what community prefer, then we'll act based on that results.
