I recommend adding 2FA as well for extra security in case your email is compromised down the line.

Yeah do it, especially if you want to wait ages before you can get access to your account back in case you lose your phone... (like me..

My problem is not complicated. I want to remove 2FA because I lost my phone. Only way to remove it is to send an email to support (that's quite stupid by the way).
I have sent them a signed message of an address I used in the past. It should be enough to prove I'm not a scammer
