You need to wait for your blockchain to sync up...that little bar at the bottom of the wallet needs to be full. This should take up to 24 hours depending on your computer

yes, infact you have most likely already received it.

go to https://ltc.blockr.io/ and paste your litecoin address in the search bar. That way you can check to see your balance even if it hasnt shown up in your wallet yet
