Obviusly webmaster didn't configured his httpd vhost for https. There is a diferent web than vanillacoin if you access through https.
huh... are you sure you're entering everything right and don't have any adware or anything? Maybe try clearing your cookies, search vanillacoin on google, and then click the www.vanillacoin.net link

Anyone else having trouble downloading the latest wallet? I click on the wallet links at http://vanillacoin.net/wallets.php and keep getting an error page.

That is a possibility now that I have confirmed it is not just something on my end. Look's like this oversight might help give us another clue to John's true identity.
