Autoban is permanent, unless manually removed/modified. Nuke bans and removes all of a user's posts (spambots usually). Manually applied bans won't show up in the modlog, those are usually temporary, but not always.

it will be a mystery now, until badbear clear's that if it was his first ban or not.
The original user might have been banned year's ago or mod's didn't checked the list and took sudden action on all users in the list.
