That is true. Most of the gamblers either they want to recover their lost money or they will chase for big win but in both process one will lose all money if they continue gambling for long time. That's most of the people will addict to these gambling games.

Yes getting addicted to gambling for any improper reason also is most common in gambling. The beauty is both winner and looser getting addiction with gambling for their respective reasons. Staying away is not solution to gambling addictions because it may make you over gamble in a single day.

Yes staying away from gambling to control our emotions must be a bad idea. In my personal experience I was induced more to gamble more when I tried to stay away from gambling. May be mediation or deviating our concentrations would help us to rid our gambling addictions.
